It has been a long time since fans have seen the former Bray Wyatt in a wrestling ring. Following Wrestlemania 37 where his Fiend persona was defeated by Randy Orton, and getting released from WWE – Wyatt would bide his time, while going simply by the name of Windham. After reports of him working on a horror movie with the special effects and makeup artist Jason Baker, he seems to finally be ready to return to the ring.
Windham Seemingly Teases Return To Ring During Cryptic Series Of Tweets
Taking to Twitter, Windham would post the following in a series of tweets. Like always, it’s far from clear what exactly he is saying, but all signs point towards him preparing for his return to the ring.
“Everything good that’s ever happened to me, first came a period of horrible suffering. I never ask why, I just wait for the rough part to end. I was chosen for whatever reason. And I’ve got shit to do. It doesn’t hurt anymore, it burns.
I’m ready now.
I’m tired of watching. Tired of hearing irrelevant clowns speculate how I’ll be perceived. Tired of hearing about my greed, my desire questioned. Wherever and whenever I decide to return, I’ll remind everyone why they know my name. Again. And again.
Believe in me.Patience. It’s almost time”
Where Could He Pop Up?
When it comes to where Windham will return to the ring, that remains very unclear. It’s unknown if he was able to keep a good relationship with WWE following his release, where it seemed he was creatively frustrated. Impact Wrestling is a smaller stage, but one that allows for nearly complete control of your character – and a place that Windham could really elevate by signing there.
AEW has a bloated roster, but has been a common destination for former WWE names to get big money contracts. With Windham not being someone who needs to wrestle commonly, this might actually work well – with him providing some excellent pre-recorded segments allowing him to build towards his matches.
Japan would oddly provide an interesting fit, as horror characters have found cult fanbases in the ring. The Fiend could work in the region, and add some variety to the card in a place like New Japan Pro Wrestling.
