When ‘Melo shoots – he don’t miss. This has been the motto of Carmelo Hayes since he linked up with Trick Williams in NXT 2.0, and was once again true at In Your House. He would defeat Carmelo Hayes to claim the NXT North American Championship for a second time, and already knows his next challenger. Solo Sikoa has called for the next shot, but the challenge was accepted by the previous champion. Tonight, Hayes will open up NXT – as everything is back to normal
Carmelo Hayes Doesn’t Care That Solo Sikoa Called For Next
After getting some boo’s from the packed crowd in the Capitol Wrestling Center, Hayes would praise Grimes. The best version of Cameron Grimes showed up at In Your House, and it was truly one of the toughest matches of his career. However, even the best Cameron Grimes wasn’t able to beat Hayes.
Hayes would trash the crowd, saying they likely miss every shot they take. He’s the best champion in the belts history, and he’s got control right now. However, Solo Sikoa would crash the celebration. He would be here for less talking, and more action.
Hayes wasn’t keen on acknowledging the previous champion’s promises, but Sikoa would say he’s got his number. Waller would come out and claim that Sikoa is not famous enough to demand a shot, regardless of who his family might be. He’d say no one even likes him, which is why he’s Solo Sikoa.
Sikoa would tell Waller to shut the hell up, seeing what he was trying to do. Sikoa got above the beatdown and started the three on one fight. This would lead to him being beaten down, with no one coming out to help even the odds. One thing was clear, and that is if Sikoa wants next – he will need to earn it.
Josh Briggs & Von Wagner Bring The Fight To The Ring
Josh Briggs has finally chosen to step up to Von Wagner, and finally Wagner will need to take on someone who can match his size. Briggs is fighting for his injured tag team partner, Brooks Jensen – who Wagner injured last month. Billed at 6ft 8in and 268lbs, Briggs is one of the biggest men on the NXT roster – and as a former Evolve Champion, has the skills to match. Wagner at 6ft 5in and 255lbs is also quite large, and tonight they will clash, and recognizes Briggs as a threat.
Before the bell even rang, Wagner would start throwing punches. Briggs came back twice as hard, before being shoved into the corner. Wagner would hit some knees to the midsection, before Briggs hit a shoving shoulder tackle and a right hand to the jaw. Robert Stone ran a distraction, allowing Wagner to hit the boot to the jaw. Briggs kept on fighting, before being dropped with the Angle Slam.
This match was brought to the floor, where Wagner shoved Briggs into the ring post. Jensen would have his injured hand slammed off the ring, but Fallon Henley ran a distraction. The cast was removed and slid into the ring, and Briggs nailed Wagner. One big lariat later, and this one was over!
