When Chris Jericho made an enemy of Eddie Kingston, he likely figured the issue would be solved quickly. However, months later – Kingston is more bloodthirsty than ever before. Blood & Guts didn’t leave him satisfied, and now Kingston has called for the second Barbed Wire Deathmatch in AEW history. Not only is that bad, but Jericho’s new faction will be locked away in a shark cage. Tonight, he has a chance to speak ahead of a match that could change his career.
Chris Jericho Will Bring Out The Painmaker For Eddie Kingston Next Week
After the crowd sang along to Judas, Jericho hit the ring. Jericho said he wasn’t here as Le Champion – but rather the Living Legend, and Eddie Kingstons superior. He wants to address everything Kingston had to say recently.
Kingston said that Jericho made him a liar, when he didn’t make him bleed in Blood & Guts. However, Kingston isn’t a liar – he just failed his task. Jericho would say that anyone is a friend of Kingston, they get taken out – be it Ortiz, Santana, Ruby Soho, or Bryan Danielson.
But Kingston called for the Barbed Wire Everywhere match, and it’s because he’s a mark for Terry Funk. However, Jericho won a Barbed Wire match at the young age of 22, and he felt pleasure in that match. Jericho is as hardcore as they come, despite his movie star good looks and legacy.
Next week, Jericho is bringing out The Painmaker – the persona Jericho used to survive a deathmatch with Nick Gage. Jericho will put Kingston on the shelf, and let his personal demons eat him alive – because Kingston will know he’s never as good as Jericho.
If every drop of blood of Jericho will represent the sins of his life, he will need a flood of blood from Kingston to wash it away. Kingston isn’t a liar, just a loser. This match comes next week for night three of Fyter Fest.
Is Konosuke Takeshita A Trap Match For Moxley?
This past Friday on AEW Rampage, Eddie Kingston & Konosuke Takeshita would walk the King’s Road together, and had an instant classic of a match. While Takeshita suffered another big loss, AEW fans remain firmly behind him – and tonight has a massive chance as he faces Jon Moxley. It’s not a match with the Interim AEW World Championship on the line, but if Takeshita can score the win, a title shot will be coming in his future.
On his way to the ring, Takeshita popped a mouthpiece in – smart choice given how physical Moxley can be. Commentary said this could be a trap match for Moxley – something Thunder Rosa stepped into recently with Miyu Yamashita. Moxley would start up with a hammerlock, before moving into a headlock.
Takeshita would shove his way free, before some heavy shoulder tackles. Moxley responded with some strikes, before a side headlock takeover. Takeshita got free, and nailed a leg lariat and a knife edge chop. Moxley responded with a chop of his own, and this would turn into a strike exchange. King Kong Lariat would rock Takeshita, before a piledriver for a two count.
Jon Moxley Tastes The Blood Of His Opponent
Another piledriver was set on the apron, but Takeshita fought free. A German Suplex on the apron would follow, and as previously noted – Takeshita literally wrote a thesis on that move, no one does it better. Moxley would be rammed off the steel steps, but would catch Takeshita with a knee to the face as he tried to get into the ring – busting Takeshita open.
Moxley would bite the forehead of Takeshita in the ring, before hitting a superplex. Takeshita would have his head stomped in – before fighting back with some forearm smashes. Drop step into a half and half suplex would follow from Moxley. More stomps to the face would follow, but Takeshita kept the fight coming.
Moxley would be hit with the Leaping Takeshita Line, and was rolling. Helluva Kick would land before the sheerdrop brainbuster. Moxley would be able to grab an armbar, but Takeshita found the ropes. Hurrciarana sent Moxley to the floor, and a perfect dive over the top kept the pressure on. Frog splash in the ring would land, but Moxley kicked out!
Bulldog Choke was attempted, but Takeshita blocked into a Blue Thunder Bomb. Jumping Knee was blocked into the Paradigm Shift. Hammer & Anvil Elbows, but Death Rider was blocked into a german Suplex for the closeted near fall we’ve seen all year. Moxley nailed the Death Rider and the Bulldog Choke, and this one was over.
Could Takeshita join Blackpool Combat Club after this war with Moxley? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
