Eddie Kingston has become a bloodthirsty animal during his feud with Chris Jericho. When Jericho refused to shake his hand after a clean loss at Revolution, few could have expected the path things would take. Jericho would break up the Inner Circle, Anarchy in the Arena would see Kingston try to set Jericho on fire, Blood & Guts would see Matt Menard fall on his sword to prevent Jericho from tapping out to the Stretch Plum.
Now, Kingston has challenged Jericho to a Barbed Wire everywhere match, and Jericho accepted – and will pull out The Painmaker persona tonight as he prepares to shed blood. The Jericho Appreciation Society will be held above the ring in a shark cage, ensuring Jericho must fight on his own tonight. Ruby Soho controlled the keys.
Barbed Wire Everywhere!
The Painmaker character is undefeated in AEW, and it’s a different state of mind for Jericho. He is on another level when he’s like this. However, Eddie Kingston walks around ready for this level of violence at a moment’s notice. Kingston rushed the ring, and went after him with the barbed wire wrapped microphone, and would quickly cut the forehead open.
This match went to the floor, and even the ring bell had barbed wire surrounding it. Kingston would take that to the face, before they’d head to the ring – and Jericho was whipped into the barbed wire wrapped around the ropes. Jericho took a barbed wire chair to the spine, but would be able to set up and nail a frankensteiner – sending Kingston onto the barbed wire board.
Jericho would follow up with a backdrop, right onto the barbed wire. Walls of Jericho would be applied in the barbed wire, but Kingston somehow fought free. Both men would be covered in blood, before Jericho was whipped into more barbed wire, and dropped crotch first onto the ropes.
Chris Jericho Needs Help To Get The Win
Kingston would set up a table at ringside, and would suplex Jericho right through the table. Neither man felt good after a move like that, but Jericho had the worst of it. Tay Conti rushed Ruby Soho at ringside, looking to get the keys for the shark cage.
Anna Jay would rush down – and would help Conti in taking down the shark cage. Jericho Appreciation Society was free, with Garcia & Parker hitting the ring. They’d stomp Kingston out, with Menard & Hager not far behind. Ortiz & Blackpool Combat Club would even the odds, with Ortiz whacking Jericho with the mad ball before an exploder suplex through the table in the corner from Kingston.
Barbed wire wrapped chair would be grabbed, but a Codebreaker would stopp Kingston in his tracks. Jericho would lay the barbed wire chair on Kingston, and went for the Lionsault – but Kingston threw the chair up before nailing the Uraken. He’d wrap Jericho in barbed wire and applied the Stretch Plum – with Sammy Guevara returning after being tossed off the cage at Blood & Guts. He’d break the hold, and helped Jericho hit a barbed wire Judas Effect for the win. Kingston would get the last laugh, and threw Jericho into the barbed wire net.
