At Forbidden Door, Jon Moxley would claim the AEW Interim World Championship by defeating Hiroshi Tanahashi. Tonight, we will find out who will be his first challenger – and it will make use of the two rings from Blood & Guts. It’s time fo the first every Royal Rampage match, as twenty men enter – and only one will be left standing to challenge Moxley soon.
Brody King, Dante Martin, Darby Allin, Dustin Rhodes, Frankie Kazarian, Hangman Page, John Silver, Keith Lee, Konosuke Takeshita, Matt Hardy, Max Caster, Orange Cassidy, Penta Oscuro, Powerhouse Hobbs, Ricky Starks, Rush, Shane Strickland, The Blade, The Butcher, & Tony Nese are the men who will fill both rings – and any of them could be one win away from a title shot.
Hangman Page & Darby Allin Kick This Match Off In A Big Way
Hangman Page & Darby Allin would hit the rings, with both Powerhouse Hobbs & Tony Nese already in the rings. Page & Hobbs shared a ring while Allin & Nese shared the other. It’s basically two ten man battle royales with Royal Rumble style entrants, with the last two men in each ring meeting for the finish. Hobbs would avoid elimination as Starks hit the ring with Page, meaning the top ranked tag team were picking the former champ apart.
Allin would eliminate Nese, and hit a tope to send a message. He’d be joined by Butcher, who hit a swinging powerbomb into the barricade before taking him into the ring. John Silver came to the aid of Page, who would try to slam Hobbs but needed some help. They’d hug before Page & Silver both teased eliminating each other – but made it clear it was all jokes.
Max Caster would hit the Blue Ring, and would unite with Butcher. RUSH would hit the Red Ring, and would waste no time nailing heavy strikes. He’d no sell the chops of Silver, before nailing a brainbuster. Blade hit the Blue Ring to join his partner Butcher, as RUSH hit a dropkick to the back of Page. Penta Oscuro hit the Red ring, but not before dropping RUSH on the floor with a slingblade.
The Rings Quickly Fill Up
RUSH would block a dive from Penta with a dropkick, as Hobbs & Starks worked together to eliminate Silver. Swerve Strickland hit the Blue ring, and immediately hit a flatliner on Butcher, and backbreaker on Blade. Caster was eliminated, and Keith Lee hit the Red ring. Lee is one of the biggest men in this match, but Team Taz would unite to beat him down.
Matt Hardy hit the ring for the first time since Jeff Hardy was pulled from TV, and he’d hobble to the Blue Ring. He’d go right after The Blade, and The Butcher – former members of the failed HFO faction. Dustin Rhodes hit the Red Ring, and nailed a snap powerslam before being run down by Hobbs. RUSH & Penta would trade strikes, before ending up on the apron. They’d take each other out, and Lucha Bros vs. Andrade & RUSH will come at a later date.
Frankie Kazarian hit the Blue Ring, and hit a leg drop to the neck of Swerve. Matt Hardy would get eliminated, and Dante Martin hit the Ring Ring and nearly eliminated Ricky Starks. Konosuke Takeshita got a great reaction as he hit the Blue Ring, and matched the speed of Swerve & Allin. A double German Suplex showed his insane power, as Blade eliminated Kazarian. Brody King would hit the Red Ring, the final man to enter that ring. Orange Cassidy hit the Blue Ring, the final overall entrant.
Brody King Wins It All
OC would take his time hitting the ring, as Brody King chopped Martin out of the ring. Butcher & The Blade would be sent off by a double hurricanrana, before Takeshita would block the DDT and hit a brainbuster. Rhodes was taken out by Hobbs & Stark, as Takeshita would fight off Full Death.
Jumping Knee Strike missed, and Butcher & The Blade sent him out. OC would be tossed out by Swerve, and Lee took out Hobbs. Starks took out Lee, and Butcher & The Blade hit Full Death and dumped Swerve out. Page jumped a spear from Starks, before hitting the low bridge on Starks from the apron. King would take out Page, and Allin took out Butcher & The Blade!
King & Allin would now meet, and King threw Allin from ring to ring. A massive cannonball senton would follow, and Allin was one of the men who started this match, and even his pain threshold has limits. Allin fought to get King on the apron, but couldn’t send him off. A sleeper hold took Allin out, and King is the winner!
