Brooklyn Bishop Lamor Whitehead Robbed of $1 Million in Jewelry While Livestreaming His Service
Bishop Lamor Whitehead is an extremely well-known bishop with over a million followers on Instagram. According to the bishop, on July 24 “three or four armed men” with masks walked into the bishop’s church and robbed him and his wife. The robbers would escape in a white Mercedes-Benz CLA.
The clergyman got on Instagram later that day and explained the robbery to his congregation and followers. When he saw the guns, he told his congregation to get down:
“I didn’t know if they wanted to shoot the church up or if they were just coming for a robbery. They were all Black men and they had masks, but I could see their face.”
The robbers made off with over $1 million in jewels. Whitehead claims he attempted to give pursuit in his car but apparently drove past them—not before seeing one of them change their clothes. Bishop Whitehead has a $50,000 reward for the arrest of the alleged robbers.
As he said in the video: “When you are a known bishop, it’s a gift and a curse.”
