It seems like it just doesn’t go well for the YouTube star and boxer, Jake Paul. For a long period, he is trying to land a match against some sounding name, but there is no success. When the world thought that finally, he will have the opportunity to fight a proven boxer, Tommy Fury backs out of the match and leaves Paul in a search for a new opponent.
As expected, it doesn’t take long for Jake Paul to find a new opponent. Just days after Tommy Fury hints his backing off, Jake announces he has several fighters waiting to fight him. One of the potential opponents was Hasim Rahman Jr., who got the opportunity to face the Youtuber.
This match will pass, and regardless of the outcome, seems like Jake Paul has an idea of a match in the back of his mind that he just refuses to let go. He is aiming on a match against the UFC superstar Conor McGregor.
Conor McGregor Shuts Up Jake Paul – You Are A Nobody!
“It’s got to happen. Why not? He’s a businessman, I’m a businessman, and that’s $75 million to $100 million for both of us.” – Paul says for The MMA Hour.
For Jake Paul, it all comes down to business and money. He sure knows how to attract attention and gain popularity. With that, he knows how to increase the sales and views of his matches. He is simply aware that his popularity and the popularity of McGregor combined can surely shatter records.
Jake Paul, despite not having fought real boxers until now in his ‘professional’ career, has received many praises and congrats from many sounding names in boxing. The heavyweight legend Mike Tyson is one of them. He praises Paul’s skills and speaks highly of his strength and durability in the ring.
“I think Conor and I would be way more exciting, way more electric.” – Paul says. “I think we’re both more of a showman than Canelo, so just the press conferences and all the s*it talk would be absolutely legendary, it would be historic, and it would be so entertaining for the fans. It’d be riveting. People would be on the edge of their seats, salivating to see us fight, because of how much promotion going into it that we would both bring.” – he adds.
Conor McGregor on the other hand recovers from an injury sustained at his latest match against Dustin Poirier. Once he recovers fully, he is eyeballing a match against one of the title holders in the UFC. Volkanovski, Kamaru Usman, and Charles Oliveira are just some of the potential names that might face McGregor upon his return.
However, when a match against Jake Paul is in question, Conor is not so sure that he would like to fight the YouTube star. Furthermore, he mocks him and says he is not even considering to fight him.
“You’ve 2 fights and done 70k pay-per-view buys.” – McGregor responds. “You are a flop, kid. A nobody.”
What is your opinion? Would you pay to see Jake Paul vs Conor McGregor?
