Both Elon Musk and Donald Trump share some mutual characteristics. They are more similar in the way that they express their dissatisfaction with something than you’d think. They are not afraid to take the most bizarre things to social media, and none of them accept no for an answer.
It was inevitable that the duo will eventually clash. And it happens at this very moment. The two public figures share insults between them on social media, now more than ever. Donald is most probably looking to run for president of the US once more in the upcoming 2024 elections, and Musk, even though siding with the Republican Party thinks that Donald Trump wouldn’t be a good choice for a candidate.
It is not completely clear how did these two avoid and not get into each other’s tweets until now. Even though they are similar in a way, they are completely different in another way. One is a business giant that builds skyscrapers and the other one is the world’s wealthiest man that is in the automotive industry and is building rockets. Maybe the nature of their businesses and the fact that they do not interfere with one another is the reason for their ‘avoidance’.
Donald Trump Unleashes Heavy Insults On Elon Musk – “Drop To Your Knees And Beg!”
Elon Musk is not hiding the fact that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is his favorite Republican candidate for the upcoming 2024 Presidential elections. And this is the thing that sparked the fire between the two. Since Elon is vocal about his support of DeSantis and takes it to social media where he has more than 100 million followers, this presents a threat to Donald Trump. He knows the amount of influence Elon has over the population. Maybe subconsciously, but he manages to push the indecisive people to one side, or the other.
Trump has not officially declared that he desires to run for president once more, however, his position and his statements, surely suggest so.
Elon Musk recently released a statement that the upcoming elections will be the first where he will vote Republican. And this pisses off Trump. He was confident that Elon already is a Republican and that he already supported him and his party back when he was in office.
“You know, he said the other day ‘Oh, I’ve never voted for a Republican’. I said I didn’t know that. He told me he voted for me. So he’s another bullshit artist.” – Trump states at a rally several days ago.
Musk did not remain silent to this insult. He immediately took to social media and expressed his beliefs that the age is a changing factor when running for president is at stake. According to him, America doesn’t need an old man on the seat for president. People need someone who is still with a fresh mind.
“I don’t hate the man, but it’s time for Trump to hang up his hat & sail into the sunset.” – Elon says. “Trump would be 82 at end of term, which is too old to be chief executive of anything, let alone the United States of America. If DeSantis runs against Biden in 2024, then DeSantis will easily win – he doesn’t even need to campaign.”
And this is where it gets interesting. As we are all aware, Trump is a person with a short fuse. He doesn’t need more than this to unleash his insults on the billionaire.
“When Elon Musk came to the White House asking me for help on all of his many subsidized projects, whether it’s electric cars that don’t drive long enough, driverless cars that crash, or rocketships to nowhere, without which subsidies he’d be worthless, and telling me how he was a big Trump fan and Republican, I could have said, “drop to your knees and beg,” and he would have done it…” – Trump wrote on his own social media, Truth Social.
Funny as it is, Elon replies to this with an emoji only, stating that he rolls on the floor laughing. Does anyone believe that Trump can help Elon with the development of rockets? Or with the autonomous driving software? I doubt it.
However, Trump didn’t have enough. He continues his finishing blows to Elon by involving his Twitter deal as well.
“Now Elon should focus on getting himself out of the Twitter mess because he could owe $44 billion for something that’s perhaps worthless. Also, lots of competition for electric cars!” – Trump adds.
If you think that this is all of it, you’d be mistaken. Trump seems to be inviting the Securities and Exchange Commission to open an investigation into a potential breach of financial disclosure rules. He states that Musk didn’t file the documents needed for reporting his Twitter shares of 9.1% on time. Allegedly Elon broke some deadlines for unveiling investments. And Trump is sharp enough to catch it.
“P. S., Why was Elon allowed to break the $15 million stock purchase barrier on Twitter without any reporting? That is a very serious breach! Have fun Elon and @jack, go to it!” – Trump adds to his posts.
Elon is yet to respond to this if he decides to do so. And moreover, if he has the time to bother with it, taking into consideration the amount of worry and the stuff going on around him at the moment.
And for Trump, we are familiar with such offensive behavior from his side back when he lost the elections. He tends to be ‘aggressive’ and more active on social media when he is not getting what he wants. Is he afraid that he will lose to Ron DeSantis?
What do you think?
