Jake Paul is famous for demanding higher pay for fighters in general, especially for the UFC fighters. He and much of the UFC fans think that the fighters are massively underpaid. This is something for which he gets into a massive feud with the UFC president Dana White.
At the UFC London on July 23, Paddy ‘The Baddy’ won with a submission over Jordan Leavitt. After the win, he did the uncalled-for ‘teabagging’ of his opponent and that made the audience go crazy.
Jake Paul Demands Paddy Pimblett To Receive A Higher Pay – Give Him His Millions!
Paddy Pimblett has shown incredible performance in the octagon. More importantly, he has been a favorite of the fans and audience, and moreover, he attracted so much attention to his bout with his trash talking that he most certainly generated a great deal of pay-per-view and great interest amongst the UFC fans.
Due to this, Jake Paul thinks that he deserves to receive ‘millions’. After he saw the match and saw the reaction of the audience he simply took to Twitter and wrote – “Pay Paddy his millions now!”
At the moment there is still no response on this from UFC’s president Dana White. Jake and Dana had been in a social media war for quite some time now and both of them had been vocal against each other. Most recently, before the Paddy bout, Jake sent an offer to Dana to fight Nate Diaz for free. Nate Diaz is left one more fight in the octagon before he leaves the promotion.
Jake’s offer states that he would fight Nate for free. But the condition is that Dana needs to up the pay of all his fighters to a minimum of $50k per bout.
“I’ll be Nate Diaz’s last fight in the UFC.” – Jake says for ESPN. “I’ll throw on the MMA gloves and fight him for free. As long as Dana White increases the minimum fighter pay to $50k and gives them healthcare benefits.”
“That was my deal, I think the Nate Diaz fight should happen, and if it doesn’t happen with that offer, it’ll probably happen one day in a boxing ring. It makes a ton of sense, the UFC has been dead this whole year.”
He also points out that money is the reason UFC fighters try to quit the sport and transition to boxing or some other combat sport.
“I get why fighters are trying to leave, boxing is s*iting on MMA this year. You haven’t heard of any UFC fights and they’ve all been boring so I get why Nate is trying to get out, he’s trying to come and face the money man which is me. It makes sense and I guess Dana White agrees.”
Paddy ‘The Baddy’ on the other hand was making £18k per bout until his previous appearance. Starting with this fight his pay increased as he signed a new 4-year deal with the UFC. The exact amount of his pay is still not revealed.
Are you siding with Paul on this one? Should Paddy receive more?
