Kevin Hart has given fans an update on Will Smith’s mental health following the latter’s role in the slapgate Oscars incident.
Kevin Hart Tells Fans Will Smith Is On The Mend-‘He’s In A Better Space’
Will, for his part, was heavily criticised when he decided to lash out at comedian Chris Rock following his joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair loss.
And once Will slapped Chris, he began to receive a significant amount of backlash on social media. His misery was compounded as his Oscar for Best Actor in ‘King Richard’ was tarnished by the ten-year Oscar ban that followed.
But with time, it appears that Will is on the mend. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Kevin said: “Will is apologetic, you know, he’s in a better space, of course, than what he was after.
“People are human, and as humans sometimes we make mistakes. So it’s not about talking about the past, it’s about acknowledging the present and doing your best to move forward.”
Nevertheless, those comments have to be taken with a pinch of salt for the following reasons. First of all, Kevin was hardly going to state that Will was going through a rough period.
After all, the public has not had a lot of sympathy for him, while Chris’ popularity has surged in response. Secondly, even if Kevin genuinely felt that Will was doing better, the latter may not have wanted to display any signs of discontent when he met Kevin.
Thus, it is not possible to gauge how well Will is genuinely doing. The fans on social media did not take too kindly to Kevin’s comments.
A certain subset of people refused to forget what Will had done and were not keen on seeing him make a return to the public eye. One person wrote: “Better space? Maybe Will can just give everyone else the space and just disappear.
“Take Jada along with him as well.” Time will tell if Will can bounce back. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
