Juice Robinson really pulled the wool over the eyes of the wrestling world earlier this year, saying he was ready to retire from the industry. However, this was all a ruse to join BULLET CLUB. Even his former tag team partner, David Finlay was fooled – and you don’t fool a Finlay. Tonight, they meet in D-Block action, and perhaps the most personally important match of Finlay in this tournament.
Rock Hard vs. The Rebel
Finlay & Robinson would lock up hard in the ring, before Robinson was taken down to the mat. Robinson would fight to his feet and look for the hip toss, only to be blocked into the armdrag. Headlock takedown would follow from Robinson, and he’d lock the side headlock on hard.
Pulp Friction would be set, but Finlay was able to easily block before shoving Robinson into the corner. He’d go up and over to the apron, before Finlay had his arm snapped over the ropes and thrown shoulder first into the ring post. Robinson would drive the shoulder off the ring apron, before bending it over the barricade.
Finlay would roll back into the ring, before an arm wringer right into the middle of the ring. Robinson would keep the pressure on that arm, knowing the injury status of Finlay better than anyone – and applying a step over armbar. He’d be unable to get the tap out, before Finlay hit the running forearm smashes.
David Finlay Fights Through The Pain In HIs Left Shoulder
Big neckbreaker from Finlay would land, and he would finally have an opening in this match. He’d rush in with the uppercut, before being tossed shoulder first into the corner and taken down into a Fujiwara Armbar. You learn to apply that hold like an expert in the NJPW dojo, but Finlay would get the bottom rope with his foot to break the hold.
On the floor, Robinson would say tonight will be the end of David Finlay, before losing for a piledriver onto the exposed wood of the floor. Instead, Robinson’s spine would hit the wood after a back body drop counter. Finlay would slam Robinson on the apron, before the Irish Curse backbreaker in the ring.
Robinson would be able to kick out, before having his previously broken hand stomped. He’d ruthlessly go after that known injury, forcing Robinson to yell “I’m sorry” in an attempt to get the pain to stomp. Finlay would bend, claw and bite that hand – before Robinson would loosen up a corner pad.
Juice Robinson Gets Rocked
Finlay would be sent hard right into the corner post, right on the left shoulder. Robinson would drag Finlay to the top rope. Finlay would counter with the sunset flip, but Robinson break free with a right hand to the face. Princes Throne gutbuster would land, before a cannonball senton in the corner.
Superplex would land, and Robinson held on before being dropped with Trash Panda – but would roll out of the ring and away from a pinfall. Second Trash Panda would be blocked with the Left Hand of God, before Pulp Friction for a shockingly close near fall.
Finlay would be put on the top rope, and Robinson spit in his face. A super Pulp Friction would be set up, before the stunner counter would come from Finlay – with Robinson just getting his foot on the bottom rope. Trash Panda was blocked, before Robinson was driven to the floor with a lariat.
Finlay dove to the floor, took the right hand punch to the jaw before a piledriver on the floor. Back in the ring, Left Hand of God landed and Rockslide got blocked. Referee was dropped, and Finlay would use the Finlay family Shileigh to rock Robinson, and nailed Trash Panda for the win.
