In Norman, OK, a couple was arrested after killing the husband’s sister, putting her body in a box, and wrapping her up in plastic—four years ago. Octavio Sanchez (35) and Desiree Sanchez (27) were arrested following a 14-month investigation into the 2021 discovery of Margarita Sandoval’s body.
Oklahoma Couple Arrested for the 2018 Murder of Margarita Sandoval – Body Discovered in 2021
Things go back to January 2018 when Margarita Sandoval opted to move in with her brother Octavio and his wife Desiree. However, family members started getting concerned when they hadn’t heard from Margarita in months.
The couple had killed her sometime that year and had wrapped her up in plastic. Her body was kept in their house and text messages show the couple discussing moving the body around because of the smell and that Margarita was haunting them.
There was also a message from Octavio threatening to do the same to Desiree if she snitched and another to someone else saying that Desiree started it and he had to finish it.
Police found Margarita’s body after getting a report of a dead body on May 13, 2021. A medical examiner ruled her death a homicide “as a result of undetermined means.” Currently, police are working with the motive of Margarita having mental issues and the couple wanting to continue collecting on her disability and stimulus check.
Both Octavio and Desiree face first-degree murder charges as well as a charge of removing a body.
