That is according to royal author Tom Bower. Ever since they left the Royal family in 2020, the couple have been at loggerheads with the royals.
The controversial Oprah Winfrey interview painted the royals in a damning light, with accusations that someone in the Royal family had reservations about Archie’s skin colour.
On top of that, Meghan disclosed that she had suicidal thoughts. So when the couple returned for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, they did receive a frosty reception.
But beneath the discontent is something much more sinister. In his comments, Tom said: ”This woman is doing something dreadful to Britain.”
And yet, in Meghan’s defence, it has been two years since she left the Royal family. And during this period, she still managed to pay a visit to the UK in light of her tarnished reputation.
But for Tom, he questioned Meghan’s motives. He expanded on how the ‘Duchess of Sussex’ had a vision from a very young age that she wanted to live a certain lifestyle.
This included an admission that Meghan had allegedly informed her father, when she was a child, that she wanted to walk on the red carpet.
And now that she has managed to achieve it in some regard, the following comments were quite telling. Tom added: “She’s now calculated that she can be a great success, and by marrying Harry, she did it.”
Much in the same way, Tom scrutinised Harry’s recent speech at the UN in light of the organisation’s work with the Nelson Mandela Foundation.
Tom was of the view that Harry’s speech was an attempt to boost his profile, and the Netflix docuseries that the couple were heavily invested in.
Tom’s following comments confirmed as much: “He does it because he needs a profile, that’s the only way he can get money.”
