Prince William has been accused of silencing his mother Princess Diana.

That is according to royal biographer Andrew Morton. Andrew certainly knows a thing or two when it comes to Diana after having been her biographer.
And his comments arrived on the back end of an announcement from the BBC that they would not show their ‘Panorama’ interview with Diana.
But given that Andrew had given his take on Diana after having worked with her to write “Diana: Her True Story,’ which came out three years after the Panorama interview, Andrew questioned William’s take that the interview should not be aired again.
In his comments, Andrew said: “It is a supreme irony that it is her son who has led the calls to posthumously muzzle Diana, to silence her, to prevent her from being heard, from saying what she spent her life trying to articulate.”
Nevertheless, it is important to bear in mind the following factors. First of all, despite Andrew maintaining that the interview was fairly accurate of Diana’s feelings, the conduct of the interviewer Martin Bashir was called into question.
Secondly, irrespective of what the case may be, it is William’s mother after all. As such, it could be argued that he should have the final say over matters related to her now that she is no longer here. Nevertheless, the response on social media was mixed.
While a certain subset felt that William’s actions could be seen as protecting his mother’s legacy, others begged to differ. One person wrote: “But he can’t silence her supporters and I’m guessing she has more than him.”
While another person stated: “Not one single biographer writer or journalist has the right to EVER criticise Harry or William on anything regarding their mother’s privacy.”
