Serena Williams has allegedly denied being a friend of Meghan Markle.
Serena Williams And Meghan Markle Are Not Friends
That is according to Vanity Fair writer Sam Kashner. The pair are very fond of each other after having spoken warmly over their respective accomplishments. Not only that, but the duo have also been pictured together.
In the picture here, we can see that Serena and Meghan are in each other’s company. They have massive smiles on their faces and could not be any happier.
It is not surprising, then, that Serena backed Meghan to do well in the next stage of her life, that being, motherhood. In some prior comments, she remarked: “She’ll be the best mom, for sure.”
Despite indications that they have a close relationship, Sam downplayed any suggestions. In fact, he expanded on how the pair were merely “acquaintances.” Even if that is the case, there is no denying that there are similarities between Serena and Meghan.
Both have spoken extensively about the importance of feminism, something which they have put their support behind. Not only that, but both understand what it takes to break barriers.
Serena has admitted suffering from racism in the past, which was a similar accusation made by Meghan in her controversial Oprah Winfrey interview in which she claimed someone in the Royal family had expressed reservations about her son Archie’s skin colour.
And yet, both have managed to come out on top in their respective areas. The fans on social media, though, were not convinced by the claims.
This was on the basis that Serena has spoken warmly about Meghan in the past. Not only that, but Serena did happen to plan Meghan’s baby shower. One person wrote: “Ummm, doesn’t sound like an “acquaintance” type of relationship to me.”
