Royal expert Ingrid Seward has defended King Charles III against allegations made by Prince Harry that his father is a bad parent.
King Charles III Is A Good Father-‘Harry Fails To Temember,’ Says Ingrid Seward
Harry has accused Charles of being unaffectionate in his autobiography Spare and TV interviews promoting the book. However, Ingrid refutes this claim and asserts that Charles was a caring father in his own unique manner.
In her comments, Ingrid said: “Harry fails to remember is that Charles had an appointment in his diary every 20 minutes, like the Queen did.
“He scheduled time with his children and he took them to things like the polo and skiing, and he did gardening and taught them all about plants. He did that kind of fathering.”
During an interview with physician and trauma specialist Gabor Maté, however, Harry expressed his desire to shower his children, Archie and Lilibet, with an overwhelming amount of affection.
According to Seward, Charles and Diana made an effort to shield their sons from their personal disagreements, and therefore, she disagrees with the claim that they did not.
Seward states that in Harry’s book, Spare, Prince William had been accused of not liking Meghan Markle, which could have been distressing for their mother, Princess Diana.
After all, the last thing she would have wanted to see was her two sons fighting. And as that happened, this has also impacted their respective children since they do not have a strong relationship that they may have otherwise have had with each other.
Seward added: “Diana used to say, ‘Harry’s the naughty one just like me’, but Diana was far more sensitive to people’s feelings than Harry is. She wouldn’t have been so outspoken because she wouldn’t want to hurt William.”
One way to heal this rift is for Harry to attend Charles’ Coronation that is set to occur on Saturday, 6th May 2023. And as part of that process, it could allow Harry to have a sit down with the firm and bury the hatchet.
But the chances of this happening are unlikely unless Harry takes action, as shown by the social media response.
One person wrote: “If Harry were to seek trauma counseling and conquered his drug abuse/addiction, these positive actions may help to open lines of communication with family members.”
