New bombshell allegations have been made about Elon Musk claiming that was allegedly having an affair with Google founder Sergey Brin’s wife, Nicole Shanahan. Their secret dalliance is said to be what led to Brin filing for divorce from Shanahan in January.
Musk has been keeping himself busy – having welcomed a second child via surrogate with Canadian singer, Grimes, last December, and producing a secret set of twins with his former executive, Shivon Zilis, last November. While it’s unknown exactly how Elon became entangled in a tryst with the Google billionaire’s wife, the affair took place around the same time his three newest children were born. To add to an already messy situation, Musk began dating his current girlfriend, Natasha Bassett, in February.

Sergey Brin, who up until recently had considered Elon Musk to be a close friend, cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as his elusive reason for wanting a divorce. Brin has an estimated net worth of $93 billion, making him the seventh richest man in the world, while Musk takes the top spot with a net worth at an estimated $253 billion. brin and Elon were so close at one point that in 2008, he ponied up $500,000 to Tesla when the company was in financial crisis. But Brin has rescinded investments to Musk’s other business endeavors in recent months, showing further proof of a rift between the former billionaire buddies.
Friends of the couple have spoken to the Wall Street Journal to reveal details of the apparent affair. According to sources, the fling began in December 2021 ‘in Art Basel in Miami’ while Brin and Shanahan were separated but still living under the same roof.
Insiders revealed that Brin and Shanahan’s relationship had already been in a state of disrepair due to the stress of the Covid-19 pandemic and parenting their young daughter. The sources also make note that the rendezvous between Musk and Shanahan took place when the Tesla CEO was on a break from his on-again-off-again partner, Grimes.
Brin and Shanahan began dating in 2015 following his divorce from 23andMe founder Anne Wojcicki, with whom he shares two children. Brin and Shanahan also welcomed a daughter in 2018 and he has requested that they have shared custody. Brin also has adamantly requested privacy when it comes to the divorce proceedings, suggesting that sealing court records would help protect his child from potential threats of ‘harassment’ or ‘kidnapping.’
Before it was revealed that their divorce was the result of an affair with Musk, Shanahan broke her silence about the split, saying, “I hope for Sergey and I to move forward with dignity, honesty and harmony for the sake of our child. And we are both working towards that.”
