Wes Lee has been finding his place in NXT 2.0 without his longtime friend and tag team partner. He’s instead fallen back onto the fans of NXT 2.0, who never gave up on him. An emotional promo saw Lee bear his soul in front of the fans, only for Trick Williams to crash things. Now tonight at the Great American Bash, we will find out just what Lee is made of as he meets Williams in singles action.
Trick Williams Gets A Big Time Singles Victory
Trick Williams would have new theme music and gear for this match, paying tribute to Muhammad Ali. He’d start things off with a massive hip toss, before Lee chopped him down for a short range bulldog. Williams got a water break before missing some kicks and being taken down with a headscissor and dropkick.
Lee would be caught with a twisting powerslam, before being stomped out on the mat. Williams tried to start a ‘Trick Trick Boma-Ye’ chant, before applying a submission in the ring. Lee would break free and hit a double stomp to the neck before a running liger kick. Williams would wet his hands with rubbing alcohol, before getting the eyes of Lee. Twisting pump kick – and Williams gets the win!
Wendy Choo & Tiffany Stratton Brawl It Out
Backstage, we’d see Tiffany Stratton getting ready for her match, only to have Wendy Choo drive powder into her face. A wild brawl would break out, with Choo trying to run Stratton down with an equipment cart. Choo would make fun of her time as the mysterious Mei Ying, before tossing Startton into a loading bay door.
They would find their way to the ramp finally, with Choo tossing Stratton into a picnic table. Choo hit some overhand chops, before Stratton would finally show some life. Into the ring, Stratton would come get yanked by her hair into a roll up for a two count, before hitting a shoulder tackle.
Choo would get the Thesz Press, before Stratton tried to flee the ring. Stratton would start to target the hand of Choo, and it would pay off as the chops had less power behind them. Choo tried for a sunset flip, but Stratton would block into a double stomp before ripping a nail off of the hand of Choo.
Stratton would have her hands stomped before a big boot to the face, and a front headspring elbow smash. Naptime crossbody landed, before Stratton would set up a Samoan Drop. Choo would slip out and hit a hurricarana. Full Nelson Slam would land before a sleeper hold was applied.
Stratton broke free before taking a brainbuster – and would kick out at two! Choo went for a German Suplex, and Stratton landed on her feet. A dropkick would be followed by the twisting vader bomb, getting her the win!
