Once Apollo Crews stepped back down to the roster NXT 2.0, we knew big matches would be coming. We recently saw him go toe to toe with Giovanni Vinci, but was cut down by a spiteful Xyon Quinn. Quinn was upset that Crews didn’t call him out for a dream match, and tonight intends to prove to Crews that he belonged on the list.
Apollo Crews Takes The Win
Crews kicked things off with a dropkick, before taking Quinn down with a back elbow smash. A body slam would land, and Crews would float to the apron and back in with a senton splash. Quinn would hit a nasty shot to drop Crews, before a quick neckbreaker. He’d kip back up into a taunt, before choking crews on the middle rope.
Crews would kick out at two after this assault, before taking a big suplex. A wear down submission would be applied, and Crews would fire up. He’d break free, before running into a brick wall as Quinn put both forearms up. A kick to the chest would stun Quinn, before Crews hit the leaping lariat.
Crews would hit the short-arm lariat next, but only was able to get a two count. Quinn would hit a twisting Death Valley Driver, getting a two count. X-Factor would be blocked, before a one armed spinebuster planted Quinn for the three count.
Zoey Stark Claims A Win Over Toxic Attraction
Zoey Stark is back after an ACL injury suffered at Halloween Havoc 2021 – and it was caused by Toxic Attraction. This means that she’s more motivated than anyone to take them down. She’s already earned a title shot against Mandy Rose, but tonight will go one on one with Gigi Dolin instead.
Before this match began, Sarray would return to NXT 2.0 – and would say that having previously defeated Rose, she wants a title shot. Sarray previously nearly broke the face of Rose with the Sunray Dropkick, and Rose has been waiting for a chance at revenge.
Stark would throw some forearm smashes at Dolin as this match began, before taking a knee to the midsection. Dolin would hit the backdrop for a one count, before applying the Bow & Arrow Stretch. Stark would roll into a pinfall, getting a one count before some rushing lariats. A running knee would get the one count, before Stark would flip Dolin into a finishing knee strike.
After the bell, Toxic Attraction would rush the ring – but Rose would run away. In three weeks at NXT Heatwave – she won’t be able to run anymore. Will Stark become NXT Women’s Champion at Heatwave? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
