Zoey Stark made a massive return to NXT last week, coming back from a serious leg injury and winning a battle royale to become the number one contender for the NXT Women’s Championship. Tonight, she kicks off the show – and will have some words for the fans, and of course – Mandy Rose.
Zoey Stark Wants Mandy Rose In The Ring Tonight
Stark would say just how good it feels to be back in the ring. At Halloween Havoc, she tore her ACL off the bone – and was told she’d be out of the ring for over a year. However, the day after surgery – she got back to work in the gym, and is now already back. A lot of mental strife came with an injury like this. Will anyone remember her? Does anyone care?
She busted her ass, and came home four months ahead of schedule to a massive reaction. That made everything worth it. Now, she’s the #1 contender – and all that stands in her way is Toxic Attraction. The same people who put her on the shelf, nearly ended her career. Now, she will put an end to Toxic Attraction once and for all.
Cora Jade would come out and try to mock Stark, but was reminded that she got chucked out of the ring. Stark would say that Jade was disgusting when she threw the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships in the trash. Jade claimed Stark was just upset she did more with that title in a week, than Stark did her whole reign.
Toxic Attraction would hit the ramp, and Rose reminded everyone that tomorrow – she passed a milestone to be the fourth longest reigning champion in the company’s history. However, Stark has other plans – and wants her title shot tonight! Instead, Gigi Dolin would step up – and promised to put her right back on the shelf.
Wes Lee Takes On Grayson Waller
Wes Lee would be instrumental in Grayson Waller having not claimed the NXT North American Championship, after getting involved by attacking Trick Williams at ringside. This distraction led to the abrupt finish, and now Waller wants a taste at Lee here tonight.
Lee would get tossed in the opening lock up, Waller showing a power edge. Headlock would be applied, before Lee slipped free and missed a kick. Waller would bounce out of the corner with an arm drag into a pinfall attempt for one. Lee would be caught into a powerslam position, but was able to slip out before a Victory Roll for a two count.
Waller would get tripped into a pinfall for a one, before kicking Lee out of the sky with a big boot. Lee would send Waller to the floor, but was unable to follow up with a dive – but was able to drop Waller shortly after. Back in the ring, Waller would take control back in the ring, sending Lee to the floor and hoping for a count out.
Lee would get back into the ring, and tried for a sunset flip – but was stopped and hit with an elbow drop. A backbreaker would turn into a potential submission, as Waller bent Lee over his knee. He’d slip free, before being slammed down into the mat for a two count. Lee would strike away at Waller after being fired up with some trash talk – being a big bulldog and some mounted punches.
Going to the top rope, Lee would be shoved hard down to the floor – before a ‘fan’ in the front row with boxing gloves on would punch Lee out behind the back of the referee. It was Trick Williams, but Lee got back in and hit with a Stunner for the finish.
