Powerhouse Hobbs has about a week to get ready to face his former tag team partner with Ricky Starks at All Out. Since breaking away from Team Taz, Hobbs has been on a roll – absolutely crushing the competition. Tonight, Ashton Day has very little chance of coming away with a victory – and would be wise to just try and survive.
Powerhouse Hobbs Breaks Ashton Day, Jade Cargill Gives Athena Her Title Shot
Hobbs hit the ring with a scowl on his face – seemingly never being in anything resembling a good mood lately. Ashton Day was making his AEW debut, and was run down with a lariat moments after the bell rang. He’d be choked in the ropes, before being hit with another lariat.
Hobbs would yell to ‘go get Ricky’ before hitting the signature pose of his former partner. He’d yank Day into the spinebuster, and spiked him hard on the mat. Backstage, The Factory would be beating down Ricky Starks, with QT Marshall saying he’s a man of his word – having promised to take Starks out for him.
This doesn’t bode well for Starks at All Out, as he took a watch assisted punch to the face. Also announced for All Out shortly after this match, TBS Champion Jade Cargill would call out Athena. We finally see Athena get her chance to become champion on September 4th.
Jericho Appreciation Society Hold Onto Their Gold
Sammy Guevara & Tay Melo have been defending the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championships in AEW lately, but tonight need to face down some serious competition. Ruby Soho has been waiting for her chance to get her hands on Tay Melo, blaming her for a broken arm – and Ortiz is always down for a fight. Guevara & Melo haven’t been tested like this as champions, and could well see their reign end tonight.
Melo & Soho would start this match, with Melo focusing in on that previously injured hand of Soho. Soho would look for the kick in the corner, but would miss. Ortiz would get the tag, and hit the short arm lariats to Guevara. Angelo Parker would be lurking at ringside, and grabbed the ankle of Ortiz before Melo & Guevara hit a double suplex.
Guevara would kick Ortiz low, before Ortiz blocked a vertical suplex into a roll up. Parker got another cheap shot in, punching Ortiz in the back of the head. Soho would get the tag and got some offence in on Melo, and even Guevara when he got in her way. Melo would look for a DDT on Ortiz, before Soho hit the No Future Kick.
Guevara broke the pinfall up, and Ortiz would get the tag – before taking the springboard cutter from Guevara for the finish. Still AAA Mixed Tag Team Champions – Jericho Appreciation Society!
CM Punk Gives Post-Match Comments In Unseen Footage From AEW Dynamite
Following his massive 3 minute loss to Jon Moxley on AEW Dynamite, everyone is wondering what is next for CM Punk. He was helped to the back by Doc Sampson and Ace Steel, and backstage comments were recorded. Tonight, AEW airs these comments as part of AEW Rampage – and we can hear just what’s on the mind of the former champion.
After a recap of just what happened on AEW Dynamite, he’d confirm he was unable to put any weight on his foot. He’d be checked out by the doctors, and said this felt worse than when he was originally out with a foot injury. Any rumours of a rematch between Punk & Moxley at All Out might have just been shut down – and Punk could be right back on the shelf after a premature return.

Punk vs. Mox was the absolute worst championship fight I have seen on wrestling. I have waited years to see these two go at it and the match was a dud. I turned the channel after the match I was so mad. I hope Pun k is okay, but that match sucked!
