Danhausen has found a new partner tonight, and will be taking on The Gunn Club. While he’s fond some popularity teaming with HOOK, tonight be brings in the absolutely massive man that is Erick Redbeard. The close friend of the late Brodie Lee is no stranger to AEW, and tonight will look to claim his first win – as he forms Beardhausen with Danhausen.
Gunn Club Get Hard Fought Victory Over Beardhausen, Need To Toughen Up
As usual, Danhausen would get one of the loudest reactions of the night from the crowd, and Redbeard would start this match. The crowd had some Ass-Boy chants going, as Jim Ross confirmed they’ve always been pains in the ass – remembering them coming to shows as kids. Redbeard would run down both members of Gunn Club, before Danhausen tagged himself into the match.
He’d try to curse Austin, but would get punched in the face. Colton would get the tag, before Danhausen would trap him in the ropes with a submission – before taking a cheap shot from Austin, and a dropkick from Colton. Gunn Club would keep the pressure on, making quick tags and smart strikes.
Danhausen would slip free and tag in Redbeard, who would hit some running dropkicks and send both men from the ring. He’d run them down with a crossbody on the floor, before the floating senton. For a big man he can move, and a spinning leg lariat would get the two count. He’d show his power with a double suplex, and Danhausen asked for the tag.
Redbeard was yanked from the ring, and GunnClub would hit the Fameasser for the win. After the bell, Billy Gunn would be upset that match took so much to win, and will run them ragged until they toughen up – and they have another match on Wednesday.
Swerve In Our Glory To Give Private Party Title Shot, HOOK Has First Challenger Step Up
We’re just a few weeks out from AEW All Out, and we still don’t have much of an idea on who Swerve In Our Glory will defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against. Tonight, they have a chance to speak – and likely will get a chance to find out their first proper challengers.
Private Party have been looking for a title shot, and Lee would recount how he single handily tore them apart. Swerve would say that while they’re not in the Top 5 – they’ll offer the shot, but it won’t be for All Out. It’ll come on Rampage or Dynamite soon.
HOOK is now the FTW Champion, and that sadly came with the collapse of Team Taz. Tonight, fans will hopefully figure out what he thinks about all of this, as he’s been given some promo time. Tony Schiavone would lead him in the ring, and would say that the FTW Championship will remain an open challenge centric belt – and HOOK said YUP.
Zack Clayton would come out, and claimed he was gonna take the belt to New Jersey. HOOK was ready to fight tonight, but Clayton was not. Instead, this match was made for next week. Clayton is an unknown in AEW, but that’s the glory of open challenges – they can make a career.
Orange Cassidy Shuts Down Ari Daivari
Orange Cassidy will be looking to claim the AEW World Trios Championship alongside Best Friends – and will have a chance to start the tournament off right against the Trustbusters. Ari Daivari is leading that faction, with Slim J & Parker Boudreaux on his side – but will stand alone against Orange Cassidy tonight on AEW Dynamite.
OC would kick things off by looking to put his hands in pockets, before Daivari would again try to recruit OC into Trustbusters. He just needs OC to lay down, so they can get out of town. OC would have no problem laying down, but he’d roll away from Daivari once he was down there.
They’d lock up in the ring, with Daivari looking for the rear waistlock, but hands in pockets broke this. Daivari was sent to the apron, and would hit a neckbreaker on OC using the top rope for extra impact. Trustbusters got some cheap shots in from ringside, before Daivari was able to get the near fall.
OC would be trapped in a sleeper hold, but would drive Daivari into the corner before hitting a running lariat. He’d look for the diving DDT, but Daivari was quick to counter before the running neckbreaker. OC would respond with a suplex, getting another big opening.
Orange Punch would be blocked into a Uranage, but a DDT would land. Iconoclasm would catch OC, but the Pepsi Twist was blocked. Orange Punch would land, and Orange Cassidy would walk away with the victory.
