Prince William and Kate Middleton have sent Meghan Markle a happy birthday message amid her 41st birthday.
Fans Blast Disingenuous William And Kate For Sending Meghan 41st Birthday Wishes- ‘You Threw Her Under The Bus, Just Stop The Online Hate And Bullying And Trolling Directed At Meghan’
The relations between all sides have been frosty for quite some time ever since Meghan’s controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey.
During the course of that process, she made a shocking revelation that Kate had made her cry, while royal author Tom Bower alleges that the opposite happened.
Irrespective of what the case may be, William and Kate took some time out to send some warm words. In a post on Twitter, the couple said: “Wishing a happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex!”
Nevertheless, the pair were heavily criticised for the following reasons. First of all, the couple’s critics accused them of failing to treat Meghan very well.
This was on the basis that the pair had not given a warm welcome during her and Prince Harry’s return to the UK for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.
This included a situation where the pair turned down the opportunity to attend Lilibet’s birthday. Secondly, others simply felt that this was not sincere, as their actions failed to back up their words.
And this was reflected in the comments that followed on social media. A certain subset of people blasted William and Kate’s behaviour. Meanwhile, others wished Meghan the best.
One person wrote: “You threw her under the bus,” while another person stated: “If you can just stop the online hate and bullying and trolling directed at Meghan, that would be great!”
It will be fascinating to see if the Duchess of Sussex does acknowledge those wishes. But based on her prior track record, with those who have not been in her good books, this looks unlikely.
After all, her father Thomas Markle recently admitted that Meghan failed to acknowledge his birthday gift that he had sent her last year for her 40th birthday.
