Is Triple H at the Root of AEW Backstage Grumblings?

There have been more and more reports about AEW stars voicing their frustration with AEW and Tony Kahn’s booking.

Bobby Fish and Andrade are two of the loudest voices, and a big reason for that could be Vince McMahon leaving the WWE and Triple H taking over WWE Creative.

As their former boss in NXT, they both know that Triple H knows how to use them and there is the possibility that there’s remorse over going to AEW.

There have been plenty of reports that things were getting rough in AEW before this as Tony brought in so many former WWE guys and AEW originals were being pushed to the side in favor of the new arrivals.

On Keepin’ It 100 Official podcast, Konnan talked about Fish’s comments and how the influx of WWE talent was similar to what happened in WCW.

    History repeats

We’ve mentioned a few times about how AEW feels like WCW in that is was fresh and new like when Eric Bischoff took over, but also how the influx of WWE talent was comparable to WCW adding to their roster.

The difference being none of AEW’s signings have come close to the impact WCW made with Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, and the Outsiders, though there are those that would argue that point.

If the additions had made an impact close to them and kept it going the grumbling may be less, but Tony has too many for the limited programing they have, meaning expanding Dark and Rampage may be a good idea and use different show runners for each Tony feels work well with him.

It’d give each show a different feel as well as more screen time for AEW stars since they don’t do house shows and their talent goes to waste and not taking bumps can result in a rash of injuries we’ve seen.

It’s similar to the NFL when they cut down their offseason programs and injuries increased due to their bodies not being used to the physical grind.

Triple H represents a return to glory

As we mentioned above, there’s every chance that Triple H taking over could be fueling some of these rumbles we’re hearing from former WWE guys, and Tony Kahn has stated he’s concerned about talent wanting to go to the WWE more now than under the previous regime.

There’s also the possibility that some will use this as leverage for a bidding war to maximize their contracts, and that’s another throwback to WCW and the Monday Night Wars.

That led to wrestlers having a bonanza of deals that gave many the income they deserved and led to talent flowing back and forth.

On the plus side for AEW, they’re all signed to contracts and Tony Kahn isn’t one to release people, so we’ll have to wait and see how it all works out.

What do you think about the complaints former WWE stars are making? Do they want to go back to WWE? Let us know in the comments below.
