Jada Pinkett has spoken out for the first time since her husband Will Smith made headlines for slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars. Jada was the subject of the entire moment of madness that unfolded that night after the host of the night, Chris, made jest of her shaved hair. It was later understood that Pinkett shaved her hair because she was suffering from alopecia. And during a recent chat Pinkett discussed the slap incident and also raised awareness about the alopecia.
In the June 1 edition of Red Table Talk, Pinkett Smith said, “Now, about Oscar night, my deepest hope is that these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out and reconcile. The state of the world today, we need them both, and we all actually need one another more than ever. Until then, Will and I are continuing to do what we have done for the last 28 years.

And that’s keep figuring out this thing called life together.” She went on, “I had so much outreach from people who suffer from alopecia, have children who suffer from alopecia and they don’t talk about it because there’s so much shame around it” Jada Pinkett further claimed that numerous people are suffering from alopecia but have kept it hidden.
She added, “The part that makes it most difficult for me is that it comes and goes, You’re going through a spout of something and you’ve got to shave your head because it’s falling out. It’s stressful. A patch grows, then another patch comes out. That gives me a lot of anxiety. What’s my hair going to look like today?”
Following the widespread condemnation of his actions, “Bad Boys for Life” star Will Smith tendered an open apology and resigned from the academy. However, the star actor was still slammed with a 10-year ban by the Academy. Will Smith physically attacked a smaller man who made a joke – in what world is that okay?
