Right now is an incredible time to be involved with professional wrestling, as both a fan and a performer. AEW has been regaining it’s lost steam from an odd period in 2022, while WWE has been on a rapid rise thanks to Triple H taking over the day to day operations of the company. Many names are being brought back, and fans are wondering if veterans like John Morrison could find their ways back to the company that made them stars.
John Morrison Is Figuring Out Where He Belongs In Professional Wrestling
During a recent interview with Ten Count for NBC Sports Boston – Morrison would asked where he fits in the current landscape of professional wrestling, and if a WWE return was on the horizon. Morrison would respond with the following.
“I don’t know what exactly that means for me, but for pro wrestlers like me who are unsigned, it means opportunity. Where? I don’t know. When? I also don’t know. I think, sometimes, with[Karrion Kross and Dexter Lumis, like, seeing him too, the time was right, and I think they made the right move, and sometimes it’s better to wait, and sometimes it’s better to go to the other place. It just depends on who you are and what your style is. I’m figuring all that out.”
Mentioning Dexter Lumis is interesting, given that Lumis recently kidnapped the longtime tag team partner of Morrsion, The Miz. Lumis would be arrested for this the following night on NXT 2.0, after rekindling his love story with storyline wife, Indi Hartwell.
His Final Match In WWE Aired On November 18th, 2022
As of right now, the final match of John Morrison in WWE was against Veer Mahaan on November 18th, 2021. Since then, he’s made his AEW debut – losing to Samoa Joe in the opening round of the Owen Hart Memorial Cup. He’s been used sparingly by AEW, and only showed up on a ‘per appearance’ deal. Morrison has mainly been working on the indies.
