KSW 70, headlined by Mariusz Pudzianowski vs Michal Materla, took place this weekend. Pudzianowski, a former strongman-turned-MMA fighter, has a long and storied career in the ring, with the veteran offering a front-row seat to his terrifying strength in the main event.
It took under two minutes – one minute and forty seconds, to be precise – for Pudzianowski to flatten his opponent, blasting him with an overhand right and dropping Materla with the uppercut that followed. The win over Materla marks Pudzianowsi’s fifth straight knockout win, and he remained out cold on the canvas for several moments before returning to consciousness and embracing his opponent.
KSW Terrifying Knockouts &; A Broken Elbow
In the co-main, former UFC fighter Daniel Omielańczuk succumbed to a submission at the hands of Ricardo Prasel, who once played in goals for Premier League club Chelsea FC. Chelsea FC are currently hamstrung by sanctions imposed on the club’s owner, Russian billionaire Roman Abramovitch, with Prasel’s winning ways far outstripping those of his former club, who finished the season nineteen points clear of the top spot.
Another noteworthy fight saw Ireland’s Tommy Quinn, fighting on the prelim card, sustain a gruesome elbow dislocation only a few minutes into his second fight against Albert Odzimkowski. Odzimkowski, mid-takedown, slammed Quinn into the canvas as Quinn attempted to post on his left arm. Quinn’s arm gave way under his weight, with the fighter audibly screaming in pain as medics attended to him. Quinn was hoping to avenge an overturned loss against Odzimkowksi, who via the doctor’s stoppage has earned his first victory under the KSW banner.
