Both KENTA & Aaron Henare are mathematically eliminated from this year’s G1 Climax, but are looking to finish with as strong a record as possible. Tonight, they meet in a first time ever singles match – and it could be a very great clash of styles. Both men are known for their hard hitting striking skills, with KENTA legendary in Japan for his time as one of the strongest strikers in Pro Wrestling NOAH. Henare meanwhile is seeking to prove he belongs in the G1 Climax next year, and this is his final match of the tournament to prove this.
KENTA Tests The Strikes Of Henare
They’d test the waters with some light strikes to begin, with Henare able to catch KENTA with a few strikes into the midsection – and sent him to the floor to recover. KENTA would rush the ring and rake the eyes of Henare to force him into the corner. Henare would be able to springboard out with the roundhouse kicks.
KENTA would flee to the outside, but Henare would miss the kick and hit the ringpost. Now with an opening, KENTA would maul Henare – shoving him into the ringpost, and breaking him down with kicks before driving him arm first into the barricade. Back in the ring, KENTA would go after the left leg of Henare on the mat – but would be forced to let go after a rope break.
Henare would find his vertical base, before driving KENTA into the corner with a flurry of kicks. Diving senton off the middle rope would land, getting Henare a two count. KENTA would be able to fire back with a quick DDT, before Green Killer off the middle rope. He’d follow up with the double stomp from the top rope, getting a two count.
Aaron Henare Taps Out Of The G1 Climax
Henare would hit a messy Berzerker Bomb on KENTA, dropping him on his head. Ultima would be applied, but KENTA used the referee to help his way to freedom. They’d trade blows in the middle of the ring, with Henare winning out before looking for Streets Of Rage.
KENTA would block and look for Game Over before moving into a Triangle Choke. Rampage escape would follow, with Henare powerbombing KENTA before going for the tackle. A knee to the face would be the counter, and KENTA would apply Game Over for the finish.
This concludes Aaron Henare’s first G1 Climax tournament, with a 1-5 record. His sole victory was over Hiroshi Tanahashi however, a major win for someone at this stage of a career. Will he make the cut for G1 Climax 33? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
