The Family Chantel fans were shocked when Pedro Jimeno filed for divorce from his wife, Chantel. Now, they are upset after finding out he still wants her to pay him half of her income.
Chantel Everett Continues To Be Responsible For Pedro As His Sponsor
Fans were convinced that Pedro feels entitled to Chantel’s income. The last episode of season 4 discloses how Pedro filed for a divorce and requested half of Chantel’s income. However, his act didn’t go down well with fans as they wondered why a real estate agent should have feel entitled to his ex-wife’s money, especially since their relationship didn’t produce any child.
Fans Are Upset That Pedro Jimeno Wants Half Of Chantel Everett’s Money
However, Pedro started getting cold towards Chantel between seasons 3 and 4. He desperately wanted to end the relationship and he went to a divorce lawyer who told him that he can apply for his permanent citizenship without Chantel since he has been in the country for five years.
His divorce lawyer further told him that despite the divorce, Chantel still has to fulfil her financial obligations to him until he has been in the country for ten years, since she signed to sponsor his k-1 visa and offer him financial support.
Pedro has claimed that he made it possible for Chantel to become a registered nurse which makes him entitled to part of her income. He also said that he was fair enough not to request for all her income. Fans will recall that Chantel refused to sign a prenuptial agreement on the show, but she signed an agreement to protect her inheritance. Unfortunately, all the income and properties she got during the union will likely be shared with Pedro.
The Family Chantel fans are outraged and think Pedro requesting for money is an act of irresponsibility. He is earning money, so he can comfortably fend for himself. Fans can’t believe that Pedro feels entitled to Chantel’s money and even takes credit for her success.
