Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been praised after their Archwell Foundation picked up a prestigious award.
Harry And Meghan’s Archwell Foundation Picks Up Prestigious Award For Helping Refugees
The couple are set to receive the ‘Partner Organisation Award.’ This is in recognition for the fact that they have provided ‘generous financial support’ in advocating for the rights of Afghan refugees.
It is alleged that the Executive Director of the Archewell Foundation James Holt will have the honour of accepting the award on behalf of the couple.
But in doing so, it does nothing to detract from the fact that Harry and Meghan have once again shown their willingness to give back to the community. And at a time where the couple often receive accusations of publicity stunts, this has been welcomed.
And this sentiment was reflected on social media. One person wrote: “Harry and Meghan doing actual change in people’s lives, doing THE WORK not just the talk, so proud of them and so happy for everyone involved in this amazing initiative.”
While another person stated: “This is why I love them. They don’t just talk the talk , they walk the walk. I love how organisations they help come and say how much their support has meant.”
Afghanistan is a place that Harry is fully aware of having served there in the British Army. And having seen the country first-hand, it is understandable that the Duke of Sussex may still have some connection to it.
In addition, following the recent takeover of the country by the Taliban, Harry was very vocal about the need for countries to come together and offer their support.
In his comments at the time, he remarked: “We encourage everybody across the Invictus network — and the wider military community — to reach out to each other and offer support for one another.”
If Harry and Meghan are looking to silence their critics, then giving back is the way to go. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
