Prince William and Kate Middleton have been accused of being lazy royals.
William And Kate Slammed For Being Lazy Royals-‘LAZY SNOBS, They ONLY Started Doing/COPYING Things After H&M Married’
This claim is in relation to the staggering amount of annual leave that the pair are allowed to have. The minimum annual leave that an ordinary citizen should have is 28 days in the UK, but the couple are given a reported 100 days.
Therefore, the huge discrepancy has been called into question, especially at a time where the majority of people are struggling due to the economic consequences of the pandemic.
As such, this entitlement seems out of place, especially when question marks have been raised over their suitability for the role. This was most notably seen when the pair received massive backlash on their royal tour of the Caribbean.
They were met by swathes of protests in the region, coupled with the fact that there was huge criticism at home amid reports that the tour cost in excess of £200,000.
That is why the annual leave has been questioned. One social media observer wrote: “Hasn’t this always been a problem considering how little ‘work’ they do?! #royals.
“Please don’t say about three children, the nanny has that covered, equally it’s never a problem for award ceremonies, concerts, & tournaments such as Bafta, football, or Wimbledon.”
While another person stated: “They were LAZY SNOBS until 2017, & they ONLY started doing/COPYING things after H&M married.
“H started Sentebale at 21 & Invictus at 33. M had the UN + her work in Rwanda & India. In 40 years W&K have done NOTHING. They copy H&M from head to toe.”
In the couple’s defence, it is important to bear in mind the following factors. First of all, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s departure from the Royal Family in 2020 meant that the couple had to take on more duties.
Therefore, their workload had increased exponentially. Secondly, with Queen Elizabeth II not getting any younger, coupled with the fact that she has had health issues of late, this has put an extra strain on the couple.
Either way, being a Royal is not for everyone. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
