Prince William was reportedly booed at a pub in Sheffield in relation to his appearance at the women’s Euro 2022 final.
Prince ‘Pegging’ William Booed At Sheffield Pub-‘It Was An Anti-Establishment Feeling’
The final turned out to be a success, as England overcame Germany 2-1 in extra time, as the team made history. And as part of that process, William was on hand to give out the medals to the players during the trophy presentation.
But it seems that not everybody was keen on seeing the Duke of Cambridge there. According to reports, when William appeared on the TV screens of a Sheffield pub, people began to boo him extensively.
When speaking on the issue, reporter Jack Royston had this to say: “I was messaging with one of the people who was in the pub at the time.
“It was an anti-establishment feeling and that Prince William basically is seen as a symbol of the establishment.” It is no secret that William’s popularity has been declining.
The recent ‘Prince of Pegging’ scandal did not help matters. Rumours circulated that a member of the Royal family had been engaging in extramarital affairs, which led to speculation that William could have been the person mentioned.
Not only that, but the general rise in the cost of living has cast doubts on whether it is possible to sustain the Royal family, with William feeling the brunt by being one of the leading members of the institution.
Jack’s following comments confirmed as much: “The particular fan that I spoke to said “we’re going through a cost of living crisis, people are struggling to pay their bills.
“And they kind of saw William as a privileged aristocrat who doesn’t have the problems that they have.” These are serious concerns that need to be addressed, especially if society’s economic problems continue to deteriorate.
And with energy prices expected to still increase, is it viable to have a Royal family funded by the taxpayer for much longer? So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
