Mike Tyson was a guest on the Jimmy Kimmel Show. The ex-Heavyweight champion and the hall of famer spoke about many things on the show. One of the main things that caught the public’s attention was the mentioned Jake Paul fight that is rumored to happen for a long time now.
Apparently, Mike Tyson thinks highly of the YouTuber. He says he is skilled enough to fight him and furthermore, he is to be given credit for all that he did for the combat sports. Mike refers to the fact that Jake Paul is a person who ‘fights’ for higher payment to boxers, UFC stars, and all combat sports contenders in general.

“He’s skilled enough, yes,” Tyson said about Paul. “I’m gonna give it to him. He’s skilled enough because he’s winning. Even if he’s fighting guys that you guys don’t believe is a good enough fighter, they should be able to beat him, but they can’t. He’s beating people that he shouldn’t really be beating. We got to give him that credit.” – Mike says.
“And he’s doing so much good for boxing. Listen, this guy got 70 million people following him every time he fights. Champions of the world don’t have that many people following them. So what he’s doing for boxing is just sensational. No one should be hating on that, he’s helping everyone get money. Why are people mad at him?” – The heavyweight legend adds.
Jake Paul doesn’t take too long before he responds to this. Just hours after the interview, Jake shares a tweet responding to Tyson.
“Thank you, to the greatest Mike Tyson for the respect and opportunity. This year we are making it happen!” – Jake Paul tweets.
However, what do you think about this? Is Mike Tyson really excited to fight the YouTuber Jake Paul, just because he thinks he is a good boxer?
My personal opinion is that the fight might interest ‘The Baddest Man On The Planet’ just because it might generate a great audience. In previous interviews, Tyson even states that he thinks that the pay-per-view that his comeback might generate is extreme. He strives to brake Floyd Mayweather’s record for most pay-per-views. According to analysts the fight will generate around $300 million which is equal to the revenue Floyd Mayweather against Conor McGregor fight had.
In the meantime, Jake Paul is to have his next bout on 13th of August. He announced his return to the ring more than a month ago, but did not mention who will be his opponent. At the moment there is still no information on who will fight him, but rumors are circulating. From Conor McGregor to Anderson Silva, to Tommy Fury, there is a palette of choices for the Youtuber. Seems like everybody wants to beat him, but nobody still achieved it.
