It was only a matter of time before Grayson Waller would be able to find himself hosting a talk show on WWE TV, and tonight we have the debut episode of The Grayson Waller effect. He will lend his star power to someone who clearly needs it, with his first guest being former United States & Intercontinental Champion – Apollo Crews. Crews has been hanging around in NXT 2.0 for a bit now, and is closing in on potential title shots – and Waller might be looking to slingshot past Crews.
Before this match would get going, we’d see Andre Chase introduce Charlie Dempsey to the mix – with him helping teach the students some holds. He’d show the aggression he brought in NXT UK, with Bodhi Hayward being pissed off at the treatment, potentially setting a match up.
Apollo Crews Doesn’t Take The Bait Of Grayson Waller
After insulting Johnny Gargano for fleeing NXT to avoid him, Waller would invite Creed to ring – saying he’s in NXT to take chances from rising stars. He’d instantly hound him and call Crews a clout chaser. AJ Styles, the NXT UK roster, and Crews have all tried to leach from the success of Waller.
Crews would try to explain he was born in NXT, only to be asked about his missing accent. He’d bring it back and say he’s still a Nigerian Warrior, but got a bit lost in his past. Waller would get after Crews for the violent visions, and ask for him to do it live on TV. Crews would be called out for not helping Diamond Mine last week when Gallus attacked.
Waller would finally say he intends to run Crews out of NXT, like Gargano. Crews would respond by calling him a low budget version of The Miz, with Waller taking that as a compliment. He’d bring up the kids of Crews being let down with him on NXT now, with Crews explaining he’s been a champion on Monday, Friday, and soon he will be a champion on Friday. A punch to the jaw would follow, and Crews would stand tall.
Cameron Grimes Can’t Afford To Lose To The Likes Of Javier Bernal
Cameron Grimes has had a string of bad luck lately, but has a big chance to get back on the right page tonight. Grimes is taking on a debuting NXT 2.0 star, Javier Bernal – who has already been able to rub people the wrong way. Schism was watching from the rafters, and Joe Gacy wished him good luck.
Bernal would get the jump on Grimes, before being taken down with a mid-kick. Grimes would take a running bulldog, but responded with a snapmare. Bernal rolled to his feet, but took an upkick and flapjack. Grimes would nail some running forearms, before a superkick and The Cave-In. This one was over just like that.
