Hello and welcome to WWE Smackdown Live Results!
Tonight looks like it’s going to be a fun one with GUNTHER defending the Intercontinental Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura and the Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament continues.
We’ll be back and set to kick off WWE Smackdown Live Results at the 8 p.m. Est.
Segment 1
Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament – Raquel Rodriquez and Aliyah vs. Shotzi and Xia Li
This started out as a match but devolved into a brawl after Aliyah and Li were went into the barricade as we headed to commercial.
Segment 2
They ratcheted up the intensity and had a great back and forth before Raquel’s power took over with a Tahana Bomb on Li for the win and to advance.
Karrion Kross cut a promo about being cast out, but how even the chosen ones like Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns have to pay the toll and watched Drew head to the ring.
Segment 3
Drew cut a promo about being attacked by Kross last week, and promised to destroy Kross for his attack.
He turned his attention to Roman Reigns and how the Island of Relevancy isn’t a real place when Kross’ music played and Scarlett came out. The Usos attacked Drew from behind and took turns beating him down before hitting their finisher.
After taunts from the Usos, Scarlett left the apron without fear.
Segment 4
Kofi Kingston attacked the Viking Raiders with a kendo stick as they were introduced, but they quickly overwhelmed him and tossed him into one of their shields before Ivar hit a splash of the barricade and onto the ramp.
Segment 5
Sami Zayn knocked on Reigns’ locker room door and the Usos came out and Drew attacked them and promised to take them down.
Hit Row (Top Dolla, Ashante “Thee” Adonis) w/B-Fab vs. Brandon Scott and Trevor Irvin
Top Dolla and Adonis wasted no time in manhandling their Brandon Scott, and then Trevor Irvin and Top slammed both at once before Adonis came in to finish them off with a Heavy Hitter.
It’s awesome to see Hit Row back, and they reintroduced themselves after the match.
Segment 6
Ronda Rousey crashed Liv Morgan and Shayna Baszler’s contract signing before it got started an mocked being suspended and dumped double her fine on the desk. She then took down a security guard before leaving.
She was confronted by Baszler who told her if she plays by the rules she’ll get what she wants, and Ronda told her she used to be a killer.
Baszler then demanded Liv Morgan come out to sign with some threats thrown in and she did. Morgan called her a bootleg Ronda Rousey, and she knows it because she beat her twice and will beat Baszler.
Baszler took Morgan down and stomped her injured arm, but Morgan countered a second arm breaker with a bulldog through the table.
Segment 7
2 on 1 Handicap Match – Drew McIntyre vs. The Usos (Jimmy, Jey)
This was supposed to be a tag match, but Drew wanted them both and after a fast start they turned the tables on him and stomped him down until Madcap moss came out and evened the odds by taking on both Usos.
After a brief nod, Moss and Drew sent the Usos to the floor with clotheslines as we headed to commercial.
Segment 8
Drew McIntyre and Madcap Moss vs. The Usos (Jimmy, Jey)
It’s not a new match, but since Drew has a partner we thought a semi fresh slate was needed.
Moss pulled Jey out and they took each other over the barricade and Drew hit a Claymore on Jimmy for the win despite Sami Zayn’s best efforts to interfere.
After the match, Drew went for a Claymore on Jey but Zayn pushed him out of the way and ate it for the Usos.
Backstage, Los Lotharios hit on Maxine DuPri, much to her brother’s chagrin.
Segment 9
Intercontinental Championship – GUNTHER (c) w/Ludwig Kaiser vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
After feeling each other out early on and then trading advantages before GUNTHER took control with chops and a stretch hold in the ropes as we headed to commercial,
Segment 10
Nakamura had a great strategy to focus on GUNTHER’s right arm to take away his power offense and it helped him come close a few times but GUNTHER kept fighting back and countering.
GUNTHER finally managed to hit a dropkick from behind and then his powerbomb for the win to retain. This was an awesome match and great way to close out the night.
This was a fun show with some good moments and a great match to wrap it up. What did you think about it? Let us know in the comments below and thank you for joining WWE Smackdown Live Results.
