AEW Dynamite Grand Slam Results: The Acclaimed Defeat Swerve In Our Glory To Win AEW World Tag Team Championships (09/21)

Back at All Out, The Acclaimed proved they belong at the top of the AEW Tag Team division. They took Swerve In Our Glory to their limits in the best match of the night, but came up short in the end. However, due to fan demand – we get the rematch here tonight, and The Acclaimed are going to be laser focused on claiming gold. Add in potential tension between Swerve & Lee, and tonight could well be their night.

Swerve In Our Glory Enter Hostile Territory

Judging by the crowd reactions to entrances, they hated Swerve Strickland, liked Keith Lee, and LOVED The Acclaimed. Everyone loves The Acclaimed in Arthur Ashe Stadium – not a cop in sight. The crowd had a heavy “Scissor Me Daddy” chant as the bell rang, and Bowens would start with Lee. He’d get the headlock applied to Lee, before being sent off the ropes.

Lee would come back with a running hurricanrana, leaving Bowens flying off to the side and speechless. Caster would get the tag, and was overpowered into the neutral corner – before being unable to hit an arm drag. Lee stopped him dead in his tracks, before going for the Biel Toss and taking the arm drag after the reversal.

The Acclaimed would look to scissor, before Swerve would hit a dropkick to the back of the head. Caster would have his knee targeted by Swerve with a dropkick to the back, before a leg snap on the mat. Swerve would hit the running uppercut to the spine, before forcing Caster down into a hammerlock.

Keith Lee would get the tag and Caster tried and failed to get the suplex. Lee woud nail the elbow smash, before Caster used his speed to complete the tag after a powerslam to Swerve and a superkick and suplex to Lee. Bowens would hit the ring with some quick strikes, before dropping Lee with the superkick.

Everybody Loves The Acclaimed

Swerve was able to slip in and nail the House Call kick to the head of Bowens, before Swerve Stomp was attempted. Bowens would avoid into a roll up, and turned it right into a Buckle Bomb. Lee would hit the headbutt to shut Bowens down, before Biel Throw over the top rope. In in the ring, Caster was planted with a spinebuster – and narrowly avoided the second rope moonsault press.

Swerve tried to use the boombox of The Acclaimed as a weapon, but got Lee instead. The Acclaimed would take Swerve down, before a flipping neckbreaker – but Caster landed hard on his knee out of the Mic Drop. They missed a perfect chance to end this, and Lee would complete the tag.

Swerve hit the rolling solebutt kick in the corner, before Caster was able to hit the backdrop. Lee would hit the pounce to the back before launching him into a powerbomb from Swerve, but somehow – Caster kicked out.

Swerve would hit a 450 stomp the floor, with Billy Gunn helping The Acclaimed get an opening to recover…. And a FameAsser behind the back. Bowens hit The Arrival – Caster hit The Mic Drop, and we have NEW AEW World Tag Team Champions.
