Right now, we’re seeing a weird period in the history of AEW. After a backstage fight that took place backstage during All Out, Tony Khan was forced to suspend Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, Kenny Omega and more. This has taken the AEW World Trios Championships from them, halted Being The Elite – and even in-house interviews have been cancelled. However, despite this – one commitment stands for Kenny Omega, having to showcase the upcoming AEW Fight Forever game at Tokyo Game Show.
Kenny Omega Is in Japan To Promote AEW Fight Forever
When it comes to AEW Fight Forever, it has been something that has been close to Kenny Omega since the design phase. Him being out of action for the bulk of 2022 due to injuries allowed him to have a close hand in the on-going development of the game. This is likely why he was chosen to present the game in Japan, with his history with fans there due to his involvement in DDT & NJPW not hurting the situation either.
This will be Omega’s first public appearance since the backstage fight with CM Punk & Ace Steel. During said fight, Omega accompanied The Young Bucks into Punk’s locker room after Punk dragged their names through the mud during the post-show media scrum. He was said to have been bitten by Steel during the ensuing brawl, reportedly while trying to ensure the dog of CM Punk was not in danger.
Omega showing up to this event is a good sign to his future in the company, which is in question following rumours of Omega & The Bucks putting out feelers to WWE in recent weeks.
Recent Reveals Have Mixed Reactions Towards The Game
When it comes to Fight Forever – the game is nearing release. We’ve seen a full singles match showcased, and promises of a game feeling like the prime of wrestling games with the N64 are ringing true. The main early flaw being shown is a smaller roster, with many key names in AEW having not made the cut – including Evil Uno & FTR. Omega was one of the first confirmed names for the game, alongside The Young Bucks.
We will hopefully see some new gameplay come from Tokyo Game Show – which could help to sway more fans to placing pre-orders. Are you excited for AEW Fight Forever? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
