Tonight, we find out which team will make the finals of the AEW World Trios Championship tournament at All Out. The Elite would defeat La Faccion Ingobernables after the return of Kenny Omega, while The United Empire got the win over Death Triangle – with some help from Kip Sabian. Tonight, these trios will clash – and meet the winner of Best Friends vs. Dark Order on Sunday. Add in the on-going issues between Kenny Omega & Will Ospreay, and you have a hot trios match to come.
Hangman Page Steps Up For The Dark Order
Ahead of Rampage, we’d get word on the status of Dark Order. Preston Vance is injured, Evil Uno got beaten down, and John Silver & Alex Reynolds were going to fight alone. However, while Hangman Page wanted to make this tournament the moment of Dark Order – he’s always got their back, and will step in ahead of the match with Best Friends this Friday.
We could potentially be on the way to seeing Omega & Page meet on PPV, one more time. Former tag team champions, they lost the tag titles at All Out 2020 – before Omega would go off the deep end, and end up with the AEW World Championship. Page was the one to end his reign, and put him out for months – and remain bitter rivals. The Young Bucks initially wanted Page to team with them for the tournament, but were turned down – adding more smoke to this fire.
Kenny Omega Calls Out Will Ospreay Through Justin Roberts
Before hitting the ring, Justin Roberts would read comments from Omega tearing down Ospreay, saying he’s got the winning record in singles, trios, sold more merch, and won more titles in this career. He even might be better looking! This all had Ospreay fired up, and a fired up Ospreay would mean Hangman Page doesn’t need to worry about The Elite.
Ospreay wasted no time getting into it with Omega, hitting a shoulder tackle. Omega applied a headlock and was shoved off into a shoulder tackle. They’d trade strikes in the middle of the ring, before The Young Bucks sent Aussie Open to the floor as they tried to back Ospreay up.
Ospreay would drive Omega to the floor, before being double teamed by The Young Bucks. He’d manage to come out on top, before a skytwister press to the floor. This one would end up with a brawl up the ramp, and Matt Jackson hit a dive to the floor. Back in the ring, Young Bucks would show their skills – isolating and hurting Ospreay in The Elite corner.
Mark Davis would get the tag and throw his weight around in the ring – before hitting a double body slam to Young Bucks. Kyle Fletcher would catch Matt out of the sky with a cutter, but Omega made the save. Ospreay got the tag, but took a facebuster in the middle of the ring.
Omega got the tag and hit the Polish Hammer – before the dropkick to the knee and the Kotoro Crusher for the two count. V-Trigger was stopped by a kick from Ospreay, before a Dragon Suplex was blocked – and Ospreay sent Omega to the floor for the Space Flying Tiger Drop… only to be caught in the Dragon Suplex.
The Elite Punch Their Tickets To All Out
Omega would look for the dive into the ring, but Aussie Open would stop him. Double superplex would land, but only got the two count. Ospreay would strip Omega’s mesh gear, before a big spinning backbreaker for the near fall. Davis kept the pressure on, hitting the spinebuster in the ring. Fletcher hit the Hammerfists, before Ospreay applied the Abdominal Stretch.
Omega broke free and got the tag to Nick Jackson, who would topple the United Empire with the fast offense, including a double facebuster and a swinging DDT. Ospreay got the knees up on the 450 Splash, before Omega would take a powerbomb in the middle of the ring. United Empire tried to set up the finish, but Nick would survive.
Young Bucks would regain the advantage, but Ospreay blocked the Meltzer Driver, before hitting a version of his own with Fletcher. Matt would somehow kick out, and Nick hit the ring for a superkick party. Omega would join for the kick on Fletcher, before Ospreay took the Meltzer Driver. Fletcher was in the sights of Omega, and took the V-Trigger and One Winged Angel – and The Elite punch their ticket to All Out.
