Ever since Queen Elizabeth II died, King Charles has been all over social media and the newsletters. The stories mostly surround his taking over the throne and his struggles accompanying it. However, as the internet is a harsh place, even the King can’t pass without ‘cyber bullying’.
As the internet noticed King’s fingers and their ‘strange’ look, massive mocking is headed in King Charles’s way. In several photos and videos shared lately, King’s fingers look red and swollen. His pinky ring that seems stuck on his finger adds up to the stories that spread.
King Charles III Massively Mocked For His ‘Meaty’ Fingers
King Charles’ fingers are his trademark since many years ago. However, the story about them seems to have been forgotten somewhere. It is like all the world sometimes needs is a refreshment of memory. Just one internet post that shows the King’s fingers and the talks start again.
Back in 1982 when Prince William was born, King Charles proudly shared the information that his newborn son has the same fingers as himself –which he referred to as ‘sausage fingers’.
“I can’t tell you how excited and proud I am. He really does look very good and he has sausage fingers, like mine.” – the King said 40 years ago.
As the comments about King’s fingers started spreading over the internet like wildfire, a butcher shop in New Zealand named a sausage after them. The butcher shared an Instagram post with a photo of the sausages labeled ‘King Charles Sausage Fingers’.
The butcher quickly deleted the photo, shortly after he noticed unusual activity on the post. However, he still remains selling the unique named product.
While the Internet goes wild for King Charles’ fingers, this something is causing this condition. Something that might be dangerous to King’s health.
In medicine, swollen fingers can mean a handful of things. From poor blood circulation and excess salt in King’s body, up to Arthritis or water retention.
After seeing the photos and videos of King Charles, Dr. Gareth Nye predicted King’s medical condition.
“Fingers usually become stiff, painful, and swollen and although medication can help with the pain, the swelling can remain.” – Dr. Gareth Nye said, suggesting that the King may have oedema. “Oedema is a condition where the body starts to retain fluids in the limbs. Normally the legs and ankles but also in the fingers, which causes them to swell.”
The doctor explained that King’s swollen fingers are just a sign of King’s age. “There aren’t any immediate health concerns coming from just swollen fingers. It’s most likely a sign of his age.”
