Meghan Markle Expected To Win An Award At The 2022 GQ Men’s Year Awards For Her Charitable Work
According to reports, the Duchess of Sussex is expected to pick up an award in order to pay homage to her charity work. And as part of that process, the ceremony is going to take place on Wednesday, 16th November 2022.
We can expect some star-studded names in light of those who have attended previously such as the Beckham family. This is an event that is familiar with the Sussexes, as Prince Harry just so happened to make an appearance via video link last year.
If this is an event that you fancy putting your support behind, then a ticket is expected to cost you over a staggering $6,000. With that being said, Meghan’s award does say something.
A source confirmed the following: “[Meghan has been offered] one of the top awards of the evening. [It is a] massive coup.
“She already has a close relationship with GQ due to her friendship with Vogue’s Editor-In-Chief Edward Enninful which is also owned by Conde Nast.”
Nevertheless, the perception of Meghan may not be as popular as it once was due to her recent conduct.
Her controversial interview with ‘The Cut’ coincided with the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death and shortly before the passing of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
And given that this is still fresh in the memory, not everyone may be happy to see Meghan pick up such an award. And this was the sentiment that was reflected on social media.
One person wrote: “What charity work, giving a group of ppl a $25 Starbucks gift card & 2nd can these two just go away, they’re everywhere they’re ten a penny.”
It is fair to say that Meghan still has some way to go before she is accepted fully back into the public fold, as she once was before. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
