That is according to royal commentator Russell Myers. This accusation centres around Meghan’s comments in her controversial interview with ‘The Cut.’
And as part of that process, she had to clarify comments which suggested that Harry had poor relations with his father. During the interview, Meghan said: “Harry said to me, ‘I lost my dad in this process.”
Markle had to immediately clarify the comments by suggesting that she was referring to her own father. But the fact that this was even put out in a public magazine in the first place did a lot of damage.
And it is now being seen as an act of selfishness on the couple’s part. In his comments, Russell stated: “I know for a fact that he [Charles] has offered them [Harry and Meghan] a place to stay.
“He has produced an olive branch to them, he has wanted to bring them close, he has tried to make instances to see them and I just think it’s being thrown back in his face.”
These comments are also quite telling in light of Meghan’s own poor relationship with her father Thomas Markle. The latter was very vocal about how Meghan did not acknowledge his gift to her on her 40th birthday.
This was in addition to reports that Meghan had not reached out to her father following his hospitalisation with a stroke. And for Russel, he could not understand why Harry would follow a similar approach.
His following comments confirmed as much: “It just seems particularly sad that Harry is, by his own accord or through conversations with his wife, going down that route.”
