That is according to journalist Josh Rom. Charles was not the most popular member prior to taking the throne due to his personal and professional life.
He initially tarnished his reputation by being involved in an affair with Queen Consort Camilla during his marriage with the late Princess Diana.
Not only that, but his financial affairs came under heavy scrutiny as shown when he was involved in a Qatari cash scandal with claims that donations to his foundation may not have been made in good faith.
And yet, Charles has had a positive start to his reign which has been a shock. In his comments, Josh said: “Prince Harry is a little taken aback by the kind of “outpouring of love.
“Britain has shown to King Charles III and the Queen Consort Camilla.” In order to understand that, however, things must be read in light of the following context.
First of all, Charles was taking over from the longest monarch that served in British history. Therefore, following in the footsteps of his mother was always going to be difficult, not just for him. That is why he may have been backed more.
Secondly, Charles is ultimately having to deal with huge rifts in the Royal Family. The Sussexes are not on good terms with the firm, which is why people may have sympathised with the task that he had at hand.
The fans on social media backed up the comments that were expressed by Josh. And in the process of doing so, they highlighted Charles’ prior conduct.
