Prince Harry has spoken out amid claims that he will not be allowed to wear a military uniform amid the mourning period following Queen Elizabeth’s death.
Prince Harry Speaks Out After Prince Andrew Is Given The Right To Wear Military Uniform Over Him
There were hopes Harry would have been able to do this since he did serve in the British armed forces. Therefore, if there was any one qualified enough to do this, then it would have been him.
And yet, it seems that only working royals will have the privilege of doing this. As such, it has left Harry with no choice but to simply wear a suit.
In an official statement given on behalf of the Duke of Sussex, a representative said the following: “His decade of military service is not determined by the uniform he wears and we respectfully ask that focus remain on the life and legacy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.”
Nevertheless, it could be argued that this decision should be reconsidered in light of the following factors. First of all, there is an argument that an exceptional circumstance could be made since Harry’s grandmother did pass away.
Secondly, given that Prince Andrew is allegedly allowed to wear the military uniform in some capacity, that has naturally generated a lot of backlash.
After all, he had been accused of sexual assault by Virginia Giuffre as part of the wider Jeffrey Epstein scandal. However, that has not stopped Andrew from having that privilege.
The fans on social media still had time to recognise the steps that Harry was taking. And in the process of doing so, people were adamant that the military uniform did not define him.
One person wrote: “Great respect for Harry. He is thinking of his grandmother at this time, and he couldn’t have spoken truer words. We know Prince Harry is the War Vet.”
As long as Harry is able to pay respects, then that is the most important thing regardless of what others have to say. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
