Queen Elizabeth II’s favorite pony, Emma, knew that the late monarch would never ride her again.
Queen Elizabeth II’s Favourite Pony Emma Knew The Late Monarch Would Never Ride Her Again-‘She Probably Had Some Sort Of Sixth Sense,’ Says Horse Groomer Terry Pedry
That is according to the head horse groomer Terry Pedry. Queen Elizabeth was known for being a huge lover of animals, as shown by the numerous corgis and ponies she had.
And as part of that process, it is alleged that Emma was her favourite since they rode together for around two decades. It was very touching, then, that Emma happened to be a part of the procession from Buckingham Palace/Westminster Abbey to Windsor Castle following the late monarch’s death.
And by the looks of it, Emma knew something was wrong. In his comments, Terry said: “I think she probably had some sort of sixth sense that Her Majesty wouldn’t be riding her anymore and she did her proud by standing there so respectfully.”
Much like Queen Elizabeth’s corgis, Emma will have to find a new home. There is no guarantee that the horse will be ridden again, but in any event, Emma paid the most fitting tribute.
Terry expanded on how the horse behaved immaculately during the procession where the whole world was watching. And just as the nation was mourning, Emma has been left without an owner.
Terry added: “It was an honour and privilege to have Emma with me to say goodbye to Her Majesty for the last time.
“The Queen adored Emma and rode her for more than twenty years so it was only right she should have been there. And she behaved impeccably.”
The fans on social media got very emotional about the whole situation. And in the process, they expressed some warm words. One person wrote: “And did you know they put one of the Queen’s headscarfs she wore on the saddle? This got it me.”
Queen Elizabeth may no longer be here, but the memories with Emma will live on. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
