Nathan Frazer feels Axiom would have just loved NXT UK, and it’s a shame they never got to wrestle over there – especially in those fancy British Rounds matches. To give Axiom a taste of what he missed out on, tonight at Worlds Collide – they will have some friendly compeition in a best of three series. No one bothered to tell him that Axiom is A-Kid, former Heritage Cup Champion – and he could be overlooking his biggest challenge yet in NXT 2.0.
Axiom Takes First Win In Best Of Three Series
Axiom would take Frazer to the mat as this one began, and cranked on the wrist to keep him down. Frazer would get free and go after the legs of Axiom, before flipping out of the corner – and nailing a shotgun dropkick. Axiom was sent out to the floor – and nailed with a picture perfect suicide dive.
Back in the ring, Axiom would take Frazer down to the mat and stomp away at his arm. A mix of a hammerlock and the Fujiwara Armbar would be applied, with Frazer unable to fight his way back to his feet. Frazer got to his feet before taking a shoulder breaker.
He’d roll to the floor, and Axiom followed up with a dive. A high angle crossbody in the ring would follow, before the Kimura would be applied. Frazer was able to fight free, and hit the springboard Final Cut for a two count. Slingblade would follow, before Axiom applied the submission.
Frazer got the rope break, before applying the Calf Crusher – and forcing Axiom to use a rope break. Axiom would hit the running kick to the face, and this one was over. He takes the first match in this series, and one more win would see him shut Frazer out.
Tyler Bate & Bron Breakker Claim Tag Team Win
Sunday was not an easy victory for Bron Breakker, as he went toe to toe with the best the UK had to offer – going one on one with Tyler Bate. When the smoke settled, he would hold the NXT & NXT UK Championships high – the first ever Undisputed NXT Champion in history. Now tonight, these two will unite – as they meet Gallus in tag team action.
Joe Coffey would start this match with Breakker, with Mark Coffey in his corner – and Wolfgang at ringside. Breakker would apply the headlock, before hitting a shoulder tackle and mowing Joe down. Bate would get the tag alongside Mark, and applied a headlock before throwing some kicks to the head. A dropkick took Mark down, before a double suplex.
Gallus took a moment to regroup on the floor – before Bate hit a headscissor takedown. Wolfgang got a cheap shot in, and Gallus was able to take control of the mat. Mark & Joe took turns getting shots in between quick tags, before Joe would apply the bearhug in the middle of the ring, with Bate breaking free after a hard fight.
Breakker got the tag, and would run Joe down with the shoulder tackles and the powerslams. Mark got the tag but Breakker would plant him with the spinebuster, before the Steiner Bulldog with Bate. Bate would hit the Tyler Driver ‘97 and this one was over.
After the match, JD McDonagh would attack Tyler Bate – before fleeing the scene. What is McDonagh’s game? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
