Last week on AEW Dynamite, Orange Cassidy claimed his first AEW Championship when he took the AEW All Atlantic Championship from Death Triangle. Tonight alongside Trent Beretta & Chuck Taylor, OC will once again face PAC as they go for the AEW World Trios Championships. Death Triangle defeated Best Friends to win the titles which were left vacant after The Elite got suspended, and tonight we could finally see Trent & Chuck raise gold in AEW for the first time.
Orange Cassidy Can’t Be Bothered To Actually Carry A Belt
OC would carry the belt to the ring in a backpack, which might become heavier than he cares to deal with if you add one third of the trios belts to the pile. Trent would start with PAC, avoiding a kick to the face and getting a roll up for a two count. PAC would match the agility of Trent, before being run down with a lariat.
Fenix & Chuck would hit the ring, with Chuck dropping with a kick to the face. Trent would help to regain control, with Chuck throwing Fenix into a spinebuster. Ant Hill would be blocked by Penta & PAC, with Best Friends all sent out to the floor for a triple dive – Death Triangle perfectly in sync. OC would be trapped in the middle of the ring and hit with a triple dropkick.
Death Triangle would corner OC for some strikes, with PAC winding up for a chop and letting the crowd down with a snapmare into a side headlock. OC was set up on the top rope for that massive superplex, but Trent would make the save. Penta & Fenix would try and stop them, with everyone ending up in a six man Tower of Doom – with OC & PAC getting the worst of this.
With everyone down, this match would almost reset – with PAC getting his footing first. OC would be grabbed by his chin – and hit with a spinning kick to the midsection. PAC would look for a suplex, but took the Stundog Millionaire. Penta rushed in with a slingblade before taking a knee lift from Chuck. Fenix took him down down a foot stomp, before taking a DDT from Trent.
Death Triangle Retains Their Way, Not PAC’s Way
Lucha Bros hit a double superkick on Trent, before blocking a double hurricanrana from OC with PAC hitting a dropkick. PAC would hit the deadlift German Suplex, with Trent and Chuck breaking the pin up. On the floor, Fenix was thrown into the ring, while in the ring PAC would miss the chance to his Black Arrow and took the Sole Food into Half & Half Suplex.
Penta got the tag and took two back to back piledrivers, before OC would signal for Ant Hill. He’d climb Chuck & Trent and came down with a splash, but PAC broke the pinfall up. PAC would grab the bell hammer, only for Fenix to stop him from cheating for another win. OC would get a roll up for a two count, before nailing Orange Punch.
Trent would get the tag after OC collapsed, and Penta would look for the Mexcian Destroyer, only to be caught in Strong Zero. Fenix broke the pin up and hit a double cutter. Black Fire Driver would land – getting Death Triangle the win.
