Next Tuesday, we will be seeing Jon Moxley defend the AEW World Championship against Hangman Page – but there is no rest for the champion. Tonight, alongside fellow Blackpool Combat Club member Claudio Castagnoli, Moxley will be in tag team action. They are facing down The Butcher & The Blade – and you know Butcher would enjoy another chance to battle for the World Championship.
Blackpool Combat Club Get Right Into The Fight
Wasting no time getting into the violence, this one would spill to the floor with Butcher & The Blade thrown into the barricades. On commentary, William Regal agreed facing a team like Butcher & The Blade does not make sense – but you can’t control him, he’s off his nuts and wants to fight. In the ring, Moxley would battle Blade into the corner with chops, before ducking a lariat and hitting a German Suplex.
Hangman Page was carefully watching in the back, looking for any chips in the armour with Moxley ahead of their title match. Claudio would be hit with a low leg drop from Butcher, before being able to get Butcher up for a suplex. Blade would throw a chop before taking an uppercut, with The Bunny running a distraction – allowing her boys to gain control.
Throughout the break through picture in picture, we’d see The Blade take control with measured strikes before applying a rear chinlock. Claudio would battle up to his feet, but Butcher would take Moxley off the apron to prevent the chance of a tag. Butcher set up a suplex, with Blade coming off the top rope with a lariat.
Jon Moxley Issues A Warning To Hangman Page
Moxley would recover and hit the apron as Claudio nailed a chin crushing uppercut, and got the tag. He’d meet Blade with a cutter, before a big dive onto Butcher. Blade would get set up for a superplex, with Moxley sneaking in a brutal back rake before. A piledriver would be followed by Blade getting his head stomped, with Butcher hitting a crossbody block to help his partner free.
Claudio & Moxley would work together to drop Butcher & The Blade – before stomping heads in. Moxley hit the Death Rider, Claudio the Ricolla Bomb – and this one was over. After the bell, Moxley asked a question – does the Blackpool Combat Club care who they face? No. When they get knocked down, do they stay down? Hell no. What will happen if Hangman Page doesn’t step up on Tuesday? He’s going to get stepped on.
