We would recently see a major event take place down in Mexico with Triplemania XXX. Numerous big matches would take place, and some previous AAA Champions would send in video messages. One missing face was former AAA Mega Champion Kenny Omega, despite him wanting to pitch in for this event.
Kenny Omega Was Unable To Send In A Video Message Due To Legal Issues
We would hear about this from Konnan, a key figure in AAA. During his latest podcast, while speaking about the recent disaster of an interview between Ariel Helwani and Tony Khan – he’d reveal some information from Kenny Omega. That being that he was unable to send in a video message due to ongoing legal issues. Konnan would have the following to say.
“I don’t think it does any good for you to go out there and say, ‘No comment, no comment,’ and I know there are some legal issues because I actually asked Kenny Omega if he could send me a video for Triplemania, directed at whoever wins between the Vikingo and Fenix because, you know, he’s the number one contender, and he goes, ‘I still can’t because of legal issues.’ So there is something legal going on.”
Omega was forced to give up the AAA Mega Championship due to injury in late 2021. Due to this, he’s owed a future title shot – and AAA will have him back when possible.
CM Punk Was Rumoured To Have Sued Following All Out Brawl
There’s not much room for speculation on what these legal issues are. AEW & AEW have a solid working relationship, leaving only a single option – that being CM Punk. Omega & The Young Bucks were involved in a brawl after All Out, following Punk dragging their names through the mud in a press conference. Since then, Punk, Omega or the Young Bucks have not been seen or directly named on AEW TV.
It’s been rumored that Punk was seeking legal action after this, which this scenario backs up. If a lawsuit is to happen, it’s likely Omega & The Young Bucks will be forced off of TV – and out of the ring in general for a while to come. When do you think we’ll see the return of The Elite?
