Britney Spears appeared to shade Selena Gomez’s 2016 speech at the American Music Awards speech on the basis that she called for women to not show off their bodies on social media.

This is something that Britney is fully aware of after having gained a reputation for posting racy images on social media. While that may have been the case, her children have allegedly made it clear that they are not happy with their mother doing this.
But for all the criticism coming her way, Britney doubled down on her beliefs by calling out Selena. In a post to her fans on Instagram, Britney shared a picture of herself in a red bikini.
The post was captioned by the following comments: “Don’t you just love the nerve of women who stand firmly getting awards and speak on their beliefs about not showing their bodies on instagram ???!!!!!”
This was a surprising comment to say the least since the duo do have a very close relationship. This was most notably seen when Selena managed to score an invite to attend none other than Britney’s wedding with Sam Asghari.
This was very significant since even her parents did not manage to attend her biggest day. And yet, Britney felt she had to call out what she felt was hypocritical behaviour.
She ended up touching up on Selena’s music video for the song “Ice Cream.” And by the looks of it, Britney was not happy with her conduct.
Her following comments confirmed as much: “They say ‘This is NOT something I would do’ yet those women are the very ones who get 4 million dollar budget videos made about sucking and licking on homemade ice cream !!!!”
Selena has yet to respond to this which is understandable due to the negative media scrutiny that has emerged, but one thing for sure is that Britney will say what she thinks.
