Lately in AEW, we’ve seen Chris Jericho on a whole other level in terms of in-ring performances. The legend has been with AEW from the start, but his recent matches against Bryan Danielson, Bandido, Jon Moxley and more have been nothing short of amazing. However, it was his match with Eddie Kingston that really set him down this path of resurgence.
Chris Jericho Compares Eddie Kingston To Randy Orton
During his appearance on the AEW Unrestricted podcast, Chris Jericho would take some time to once again hype up recent rival Eddie Kingston. He’d go on to compare him to Randy Orton due to how neither man realises just how good they are. Jericho would be quoted saying the following.
“Eddie Kingston reminds me of Randy Orton, and I’ll tell you the reason why. Polar opposites in image and gimmicks but neither one of them quite realise just how good they are. They kind of think it’s funny to kind of downplay themselves but they’re both so good and Eddie doesn’t quite get it yet and when he does, he’s gonna be a world champion. Not that he doesn’t now, but he still has an inner demon. I think those are going away because he realises just how good he is. But I saw it from the start. So yeah, I’m a big fan of Eddie Kingston.”
Kingston Seems To Be Suspended Following Grand Slam
Right now, Eddie Kingston is in a feud with Sammy Guevara. They were planned to wrestle at All Out, before Kingston was suspended following a backstage fight with Guevara. The match would end up happening at AEW Grand Slam, where Kingston originally won via submission – but the decision was overturned when Kingston refused to let the submission go after the bell.
Kingston did not show up on AEW TV during the latest episodes of Dynamite or Rampage, likely serving a storyline suspension for his actions at Grand Slam. Do you enjoy Eddie Kingston in AEW? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
